As a part of the External Assessment of the subject National Service Scheme (NSS), the Department of B.Com (Management Studies) of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science (Autonomous) successfully organized a seminar titled “Use of Technology in Social Work, Online Platforms for Social Advocacy and Social Entrepreneurship” on Friday, 16th January 2026, at 10:00 a.m. onwards in the college auditorium.
The seminar was conducted for SYB.Com (MS) and SYB.Com (A&F) students with the objective of creating awareness about the growing role of technology in addressing social issues and promoting community development. The session was delivered by Ms. Krishna Vora, an alumnus of the college (Batch 2020–2021), who shared her insights and practical experiences related to digital tools, online advocacy platforms, and innovative approaches in social entrepreneurship.
The speaker highlighted how technology can be effectively used in social work practices, mobilizing communities, spreading awareness through digital platforms, and creating sustainable social enterprises. The session was interactive and informative, enabling students to understand the real-world application of theoretical concepts learned under the NSS curriculum.
The seminar proved to be enriching and impactful, helping students gain practical knowledge, social awareness, and a broader perspective on the use of technology for social welfare. The programme successfully fulfilled its academic and social objectives as part of the NSS external assessment.
