REPORT ON FIRST ALUMNI MEET HELD ON

SATURDAY, 16th MARCH 2019

The first Alumni Reunion of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science, Kandivali (East) was organised on Saturday, 16th March 2019 at Nirmala Hall for all the ex-students from various streams of the college.

The Alumni started arriving in Nirmala hall by 4.30 p.m. and were received by the Entry Desk Registration team.The college band welcomed the alumni with a musical performance and created a perfect ambience before the start of the formal function.

The formal function began with the hosts of the evening, Mr.NeelkanthRaval and Mr.Inesh Pillai(BSc.C.S. students) inviting the dignitaries to occupy the dais.  To start the occasion on an auspicious note, the Chief Guest Shri. Thakorbhai Desai, Founder NirmalaMemorial Foundation proceeded for lighting of the lamp, accompanied by Shri Ajit Desai, Member of the Management, Prof.SwiddleD’Cunha, Principal – Degree college, Prof. S.B.Patil, Mentor BSc. I.T. and C.S, Dr. Vijay Javlekar, Principal – B.Ed, Dr.JigneshDalal, Vice Principal, Dr.PoonamKakkad, Coordinator - B.M.S and B.Com (A&F), Dr.VijayaJacqueline, Coordinator – M.Com andMs.Deveeka Shetty, Coordinator – BMM.

Alumni and Placement Cell Convenor, Prof.SangeethaShyamSundar, welcomed all the dignitaries and alumni for the first Alumni reunion organised by the college. The purpose and need for forming the Alumni Association was highlighted and a request was made to all Alumni to register for the same. She also thanked the Alumni for responding to the invitation from the college and being present for the reunion in such large numbers. 

The founder of NMF, beloved Dadaji shared his feelings and thoughts about the institute set up under his able leadership and the progress it has seen since its inception. He expressed his happiness at thepositive response shown by the ex-students to revisit their alma mater.

Shri S B Patil informed the Alumni about the latest developments in the college and also highlighted how the alumni can actively support and participate in the betterment of the college and the students.

Principal Prof.SwiddleD’Cunha shared details about the college winning India’s Education Excellence Award, 2018 and also thanked the Alumni for their involvement and participation.

Next, Alumni were invited on stage to share their memories about the college. The alumni from various streams recollected old days spent at the college and shared their happiness in meeting their peers and teachers.

A multimedia presentation, capturing glimpses of past memories & current achievements of the college followed. The video was put together by Mr.Devansh Desai (B.Sc. CS student). The alumni appreciated the sports, cultural and overall glories that the college has witnessed over the past few years.

This was followed by the launch of the Annual College Magazine Cover page by Dr. Monika John, convenor of Library and Magazine committee and her team amid much fanfare.

Dr.PoonamKakkad, IQAC and B.M.S & B.Com (A&F) Coordinator proposed the Vote of Thanks. She thanked the Alumni for taking the time to come for the Alumni Meet making it a very special and memorable one.  She recognised the efforts of the various organizers of the event (teaching, non-teaching staff and the enthusiastic student volunteers) whose hard work and dedication made the event possible.  She also thanked the management of NMFC for the support and guidance which made Alumni Meet 2019 a grand success. The National Anthem was played to mark the end of the formal function.

DJ Ashley (TYBMM student) then took over and ensured that the audience enjoyed themselves on the dance floor. The evening ended with dinner being served to all the attendees at the Alumni meet. It was indeed an evening to remember!
