The Internal Quality Assurance Cell and the Department of B.Com (MS) organised a Six-Day Personality Development Camp for the First-Year students with the goal of fostering the soft skills and a holistic development of the students.
The camp's main objective was to familiarize participants with the emerging ideas and trends on how to enhance their soft skills and flourish in the 21st century. A total of 107 students from First Year B.Com (MS) and B.Sc IT participated in the camp.

Day 1
Dr. Navin Punjabi invited 8 volunteers and assigned them a topic for discussion — “Meta Vs. Mind”. The volunteers shared their perspective for 15 minutes, sharing the positive and negative aspects of using Meta. They came to a unanimous decision at the end stating that there should be a balance between the two. The speaker then concluded the activity and provided feedback regarding the performance of each individual and shared tips on the Do’s and Don'ts of group discussion.
Day 2
Ms. Trisha’s session began with a game of Silent Chinese Whispers where a group of volunteers were shown an action and they had to repeat the same to the next person in line. Based on the activity she emphasized on the importance of non-verbal communication. The session also included multiple activities based on gestures, pronunciation, jargons, communication skills, etc. Every activity was followed by an explanation on the importance of the skills.
Day 3
Dr. Shivani’s session began with a power clap and dance to energise the students. She then shared a personal story about confidence building and discussed the 4 elements of confidence. She invited the students to do a ramp walk in the auditorium, then shared some tips and hacks to look good and feel confident. The session concluded with a song which the students joined in enthusiastically.
Day 4
The session began with an activity where students were asked to introduce themselves by adding an adjective before their names. The speaker then explained the meaning of Personal Branding and the steps to build one's brand. She gave examples of famous personalities and companies, spoke about setting vision and goals, discovering one's USP and developing digital presence. The speaker also showed relevant videos on personal branding. The session concluded with activities related to making a SWOT analysis and creating a personal brand story.
Day 5
The resource person explained the meaning and essential Interview Skills. She elaborated on the kind of commonly asked questions in the interviews and conducted activities on the same. She emphasized on the importance of group discussions and further explained the 5 P’s of interview like practice, preparation, positive attitude, politeness and professionalism. The session ended with a question-answer round.
Day 6
Mr. Vivek Sarda’s session was completely activity based where he conducted a variety of activities and connected them to a management concept. There were games with balloons, hoola hoops and other objects which demonstrated team-work, smart thinking, co-ordination and leadership skills among others. The final session of the Personality Development Camp concluded with a lot of fun, learning and excitement.
