About
An IPR Cell is a specialized department responsible for maintaining and protecting intellectual property assets. IPR Cells are frequently found within organizations and institutions. All works of art, inventions, trademarks, and secret knowledge are considered to be forms of intellectual property. The primary responsibility of the IPR Cell includes locating, documenting, and safeguarding intellectual property rights using tools like patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. It is crucial in developing an organization's IP strategy, educating stakeholders about IP rights, facilitating technology transfers and licensing agreements, and enforcing IP rights when they are violated. IPR Cell supports an organization's creativity, competitiveness, and overall success in a knowledge-driven economy by efficiently managing intellectual property.

Objectives
•    To educate faculty about the procedure of patent filing
•    To organise seminars/workshops on intellectual property rights to create awareness among students and teachers
•    To encourage and support research and innovation within the organization

Policy
The Institute is dedicated to the promotion, safeguarding, effective administration, and responsible commercialization of Intellectual Property. This commitment aligns with the Institute's core missions of education, research, and community engagement. It actively encourages the utilization and monetization of IP assets, which can contribute supplementary income to the Institute while offering advantages to its faculty and students. Concurrently, the Institute upholds traditional academic principles and aspirations.

The IQAC, Research cell and IPR cell organised a webinar on IPR Awareness in collaboration with the National IP Awareness Mission. Ms. Jaspreet Kaur was invited as a Resource Person and around 50 students benefited by the webinar. The resource person highlighted the relevance of IPR in today competitive market, the importance of filing patents etc. The session was highly appreciated by the students, as it not only enhanced their awareness but also provided them with practical insights that can be applied in their academic pursuits and future careers. The steps to file the patents was also explained in detail.

The Research Cell in collaboration with Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India organized a One Day online webinar on IPR Awareness. The separate webinar was arranged for teachers and students. Around 120 teachers and 150 students joined in for the webinar. The sessions were organised on 19th November 2022. Both the sessions were highly appreciated by the audience.
