The Department of B.Com (Management Studies) and B.Com (Accounting & Finance) organised a workshop on “Awareness and Training on Medical Emergencies” on Thursday, 13th August 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the college auditorium. The programme was conducted as a part of the NSS co-curricular activity and served as the Second Assignment for Second Year B.Com (MS) and B.Com (A&F) students.The session was conducted by Ms. Sumaiya Raghavan, a qualified trainer in First Aid, lifesaving skills and CPR. The workshop focused on creating awareness about handling medical emergencies and equipping students with essential lifesaving skills. Ms. Raghavan explained how to recognise cardiac arrest, perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) during an emergency. The workshop was highly informative and interactive, enabling students to understand the importance of remaining calm, responding quickly and taking appropriate action during medical emergencies. The practical orientation of the session helped students appreciate how basic lifesaving knowledge can make a significant difference in critical situations. A total of 227 attended and benefited from the workshop.
