Parent Teacher Meetings are a valuable forum that connects parents with learners' teachers and mentors. Understandably, parents are keen to know about their wards' progress and what measures can be taken by them jointly with the college authorities and teachers for the overall development of the wards.
As is the tradition observed diligently every year, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science conducted a PTM on Friday, 24 February, 2023.
Parents had been intimated well in advance about the date, time, venue and agenda of the meeting so they could accommodate the PTM conveniently.
Bridging the Gap
The aim was to have a maximum number of parents at the college for interaction and apprise parents of the latest developments at the campus. The PTM was also the right occasion to showcase the opportunities, facilities and guidance that the college has been providing to learners since the beginning of the Academic Year.
While every information, big or simple, is conveyed to learners through the right channels, chances are that learners may not be able to share some intimations with parents.
Learners had some queries and reservations about the intention of the PTM. They were assured that the main purpose of the meeting is to connect with the parents, give them important information about the scope of courses being offered, examination, admission procedure and very importantly, about the plethora of options, including Placements, that learners can benefit from extensively.
CONDUCT OF THE PTM
The PTM was conducted by respective Class Mentors in blocks allotted division-wise. A PowerPoint Presentation was shown to the parents which consisted of information about all the activities, seminars, programmes, placement services and more.
All the faculty members ensured that the PTM was interactive in order to be productive. Parents were encouraged to share their views, ask questions and give suggestions. Parents participated actively, and made notes about the various activities their children could take up in the college.
They were requested to scan codes for Placement services, and asked to submit their valuable feedback at the end.
No. of Attendees (Parents) : 365
Objective : To establish a strong communication network with parents, build trust among them, and describe the progress of their ward to them
Beneficiaries: Learners and parents
