The Department of B.Sc. Information Technology at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science organized an Ethical Hacking Workshop for second-year B.Sc. IT students from 2nd September 2024 to 6th September 2024. The main objective of the workshop was to provide students with an understanding of ethical hacking and its importance in cybersecurity. It also aimed to familiarize students with various tools and techniques used in ethical hacking, offer practical hands-on experience through lab sessions, and create awareness about the ethical and legal aspects of hacking. The sessions were conducted by resource person Vaibhav Khadelwal from SCIENOX Technologies Pvt. Ltd. The workshop was held in the Computer Lab on the 3rd floor from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a total duration of 30 hours. Total 30 students participated in the program. The students found the workshop highly informative, interactive, and beneficial, especially appreciating the practical sessions and hands-on labs that provided real-world exposure. The hands-on approach helped students understand ethical hacking concepts effectively and encouraged active participation throughout the workshop. The session coordinators for the workshop were Aparna Panigrahy and Vandana Singh. Overall, the workshop was a successful initiative that enhanced students’ technical knowledge and practical skills in the field of cybersecurity.
