The Department of B.Com (Accounting and Finance), in association with the Financial Planning Academy, organized a one-day workshop titled “Mock Stock: Hands-on Training Programme” on Wednesday, 3rd December 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The session was conducted in the College Auditorium (Nirmala Hall).

The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Suresh Varma, a software engineer from IIT, an MBA graduate from IIM, and a qualified CFA professional. The objective of the programme was to provide students with practical exposure to stock market trading.

The workshop consisted of a competition where students participated in a team of two in simulated trading of securities and commodities. They analysed price movements, responded to market updates, and executed trades in real time. The resource person provided guidance and support virtually in terms of calculations and instructions. Overall, the workshop was highly engaging and beneficial. Students appreciated the interactive teaching style, real-time practice, and industry-oriented learning experience. The programme successfully fulfilled its objective of building financial awareness and equipping students with foundational market skills.

A total of 124 students benefitted from it.
