The students of FYBSc Computer Science and FYBSc Data Science of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science, Kandivali (E), Mumbai, visited the Nehru Science Centre, Worli on 12th September, 2025, accompanied by four faculty members. The visit was organized as part of the college’s initiative to provide practical exposure and experiential learning beyond classroom teaching.
A total of 167 participants (163 students and 4 teachers) attended the educational visit. The visit commenced at 12:00 noon with a show on astronomy that provided deep insights into celestial bodies, space exploration, and the wonders of the universe.
The Nehru Science Centre, being one of the largest interactive science centres in India, offered a variety of galleries and exhibits. Students explored models and demonstrations related to energy, mechanics, sound, light, electronics, and digital technology. The life-size exhibits, hands-on experiments, and interactive sessions enriched the students’ learning experience and helped them relate scientific concepts to real-world applications.
The highlight of the visit was the astronomy show, which sparked curiosity about space science and technology. Students also engaged with various interactive exhibits that enhanced their problem-solving, logical thinking, and analytical skills. The visit promoted curiosity, innovation, and scientific temperament among the students.
Overall, the educational tour to Nehru Science Centre was highly informative and enjoyable. It successfully achieved the objective of integrating classroom knowledge with practical exposure. Students returned with a renewed enthusiasm for science and technology.
