Think Smart: Unlocking the Power of Critical Thinking

The Department of B.Com. (Management Studies) and B.Com. (Accounting & Finance), Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science (Autonomous), organized an enriching workshop titled “Think Smart: Unlocking the Power of Critical Thinking” on 13th July 2026 in the College Auditorium. The workshop was conducted for the first-year students of B.Com. (MS) and B.Com. (A&F) to develop their analytical and problem-solving abilities.The sessions were conducted in two batches. The FY B.Com. (MS) Students attended the workshop from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., while the FY B.Com. (A&F) Students participated from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Madhavi Gokhale, Professor at the School of Business Management (NMIMS), who brought extensive academic expertise and practical insights to the session.Dr. Gokhale emphasized the significance of critical thinking in academic learning, professional development, and everyday decision-making. Through engaging discussions, practical examples, and interactive activities, she encouraged students to question assumptions, evaluate information logically, and approach problems with an open and analytical mindset. She also highlighted the importance of active listening, effective reasoning, and evidence-based decision-making in today's information-rich and rapidly changing world.The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who actively interacted with the speaker and took part in the activities. The session provided them with valuable techniques to enhance their thinking skills and become more confident and responsible decision-makers.Overall, the workshop was highly informative, engaging, and inspiring. A total of 77 Students form FYBCOM (A&F) and 91 students from FYBCOM (MS) benefited from the workshop.
