National Level Online Faculty Development Programme

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Department of Accountancy in collaboration with WIRC of ICAI organised a National Level Online Faculty Development Programme titled “Unleashing Financial Insights: Deliberations Over Contemporary Issues” from Monday, 3rd March to Saturday, 8th March from 11.30 a.m onwards. The aim was to upgrade the teaching, training and research skills of accountancy teachers. The FDP was designed to explore critical topics and analyse recent reforms, evaluate fiscal policies, and explore methodologies for detecting and preventing financial fraud.The resource persons were Chartered Accountants and experts in their respective fields. Topics like Use of AI in Accounts and Finance, Forensic Audit, Budget Provision, etc. were covered which are very relevant to the current scenario. There was a Question-Answer round after each session and the participants enthusiastically asked their doubts. Each session concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource person, WIRC of ICAI and the management of the college. A total of 66 participants from various states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, UP, Tamil Nadu, etc., benefitted from the programme.
Highlights of each day:
Day 1
The programme began with an inaugural session where the Convenor, CA. Diya Mukherjee emphasized on the purpose of conducting the FDP and introduced the dignitaries. The Principal addressed the participants followed by some words of wisdom imparted by the newly appointed Chairperson of WIRC of ICAI. 
The Resource Person, CA. Virag Shah, spoke on the topic Use of AI in Accounts and Finance where he highlighted the impact of AI on accounting and changing roles and critical skills required by accountants. He showed the various tools that can be used by accountants, researchers and faculties like ChatGPT, Gamma, etc. and the methods of using them effectively. He concluded the session with these words of wisdom, “AI won’t replace accountants, but accountants who use AI will replace those who don’t.”
Day 2
CA. Henik Shah in his session on Tally ERP and its Automation provided insights into the software’s advanced features, including automated accounting, GST compliance, and financial reporting. He demonstrated how automation in Tally streamlines business operations, reduces manual errors, and enhances efficiency. The session also covered real-world applications, highlighting its significance for businesses in managing accounts seamlessly.
Day 3
CA. Nihar Dharod conducted a session on Latest Developments in GST where he introduced the participants to recent amendments in GST, compliance requirements, and their impact on businesses. He discussed key changes, including e-invoicing updates, ITC regulations, and sector-specific implications. The session highlighted the need for businesses to stay updated to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
Day 4
CA. Shardul Shah in his topic Prevention of Money Laundering Act raised awareness about legal provisions, compliance requirements, and recent amendments. He discussed the impact of money laundering on the economy and the role of financial institutions in curbing illicit transactions. The session emphasized stringent enforcement, penalties, and best practices for businesses to prevent financial crimes. The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, addressing participants' queries on regulatory compliance.
Day 5
The session on Forensic Audit by CA. Vishal Khade provided an insightful overview of its role in detecting financial fraud and ensuring corporate transparency. He discussed key techniques, legal frameworks, and case studies highlighting forensic accounting practices. The session emphasized the importance of forensic audits in corporate governance, fraud risk management, and regulatory compliance. Attendees gained practical knowledge on investigative methodologies and emerging challenges in forensic auditing.
Day 6
The seminar on the Overview of Budget 2025-26 by CA. Chintan Vasani provided insights into key policy changes, economic priorities, and fiscal allocations. He discussed the government's focus on infrastructure, digital economy, and social welfare, highlighting tax reforms and growth projections. The session also addressed the various types of incomes, their exemptions and deductions. Overall, it was an informative discussion on the nation's financial roadmap.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT - EXPLORING STRATEGIES AND THEIR IMPACT IN MODERN ERA

The Department of Accountancy and the IQAC in collaboration with WIRC of ICAI organised an National Level Online Faculty Development Programme titled "FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT - EXPLORING STRATEGIES AND THEIR IMPACT IN MODERN ERA"on 22nd February ,2024 at 11:30 am with an aim to upgrade the teaching, training and research skills of accountancy teachers - especially those teachers who have not had an opportunity to acquaint themselves with recent developments in teaching. The resource persons were mainly Chartered Accountants and experts in their respective fields. There was a Question-Answer round after each session and the participants enthusiastically asked their doubts. The response to the FDP was overwhelming and the participants attended from all over the country.
Highlights of each day:
Day 1
The 1st day of the FDP began with an inaugural session. The host gave a brief introduction regarding the college followed by the Chief Guest, CA. Arpit Kabra, Chairman of WIRC addressed the 187 registered participants. 
The resource person, CA. Kaushik Gada , who is Founder at KG Gada , shared his thoughts on the topic “Artificial Intelligence in Personal Finance” where he explained the concept and need of Artificial intelligence. It was an interesting session followed by a question-answer round and a vote of thanks.
 Day 2
The speaker, CA. Hardik Vyas, Proprietor at H.  Vyas company, discussed the Derivative market Risk Management . The speaker has given insights of the derivative market and application in the financial market. He efficiently summarized the vast topic for the attending faculties enabling them to apply in teaching. The session was followed by a question-answer round and a vote of thanks.
 Day 3
The speaker Ms. Devaki Naik, Forensic Accountant, spoke on the topic “Fraud Detection and mitigation tool ”. She has discussed multiple tools of mitigation frauds .The session was very interesting .Participants enthusiastically asked questions and clarified their doubts. The session ended with a vote of thanks.
 Day 4
The speaker CA. Saurabh Sharma, Partner at Legacy Growth and CA. Rupali Ashar, Associate partner at Legacy Growth ,spoke on the topic “Angel Investment - An insight into innovative financial Era"  discussed the procedure and method of Angel investment also given the example of shark tank how they operate the process. The session ended with a question-answer round and the vote of thanks.
Day 5
CA. Abhishek Ruia, who is Sole Proprietor in Abhishek Ruia and Managing director in ARBR Co and LLP,  spoke on the topic “Portfolio Management - A contemporary approach”. This session was postponed due to personal emergency from speaker side. He covered the approaches to trading analysis and Investment analysis. He explained the technical analysis patterns and where to enter and when to exit the stock market. He also suggested the books one can read to know more about the topic. The session ended with a question-answer round and the vote of thanks.

The resource persons were mainly Chartered Accountants and experts in their respective fields. The topics of the FDP ranged from IFRS, Impact of budget on taxation, Trading on stock market to GST Update, Forensic Accountancy, etc. which are very relevant to the current scenario.  There was a Question-Answer round after each session and the participants enthusiastically asked their doubts. The response to the FDP was overwhelming and the participants attended from all over the country including states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, U.P, M.P, Delhi, etc. 

A Seminar on How to Boost Your Career in Accounting & Finance with ACCA

The Accountancy Association organised a seminar on Thursday, 9th February, 2023 with an aim to educate students about the career opportunities in the field of accounting.The Guest Speaker, Mr. Zaheer Sayed is a member and faculty of ACCA. (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)Mr. Sayed informed the students about the various career options they can pursue in the accounting field. He also gave an introduction to IFRS and spoke about an international course that is very much in demand in the current scenario. There was a Question-Answer round at the end and students came up with questions and had their doubts cleared. Students showed great enthusiasm and the overwhelming response made it a success.

A seminar on Filing of ITR on Portal from Practical Aspect

The Accountancy Association organised a seminar on Filing of ITR on Portal from Practical Aspect  on Tuesday, 30th August, 2022 with an aim to educate the students regarding the procedure involved for filing an ITR. Students from B.Com, BAF and M.Com were the participants.The Guest Speaker, CA Ronak Shah is a member of ICAI, CS and an expert in Accountancy and Finance. Mr. Shah logged into the ITR Portal and took the students through the process of filing step-wise. It gave a better understanding to the students. He also explained certain accountancy related terms and concepts. There was a Question-Answer round at the end and students came up with questions and had their doubts cleared. Students showed great enthusiasm and the overwhelming response made it a success.

A Seminar on Mantras for Successful Financial Planning

The Accountancy Association organised a seminar on financial planning on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2022, with an aim to educate the students and inculcate in them the habit of planning their finances at an early stage. The first year students were the participants. The Guest Speaker, Mr. Atul Sathe, is a professor at H.R College of Commerce & Economics. He is NET qualified and ICWA rank holder.Mr. Sathe mainly shared his experience regarding investments and motivated students to start investing early. He explained the gains of various investment schemes and the need for a second (passive) income. There was a Question-Answer round at the end and students came up with questions and had their doubts cleared. They showed great enthusiasm and the overwhelming response made it a success.
