The Cultural Committee of our college organized a unique and vibrant event, Friendship with Mismatch Day, on Tuesday, 30 th July 2024. Friendship with Mismatch Day was designed to highlight the individuality and diversity that characterize our student community. Students were encouraged to participate by dressing in their most creative and mismatched outfits. This not only provided a fun and engaging way for students to express themselves but also served as a metaphor for the diverse and harmonious friendships within our college. The response to the event was overwhelming, with a large number of students actively participating. The campus was transformed into a colorful mosaic of creativity, with students donning outfits that combined various styles, colors, and patterns. The enthusiasm and effort put into the attire were commendable, reflecting the spirit of the event. Friendship with Mismatch Day was a resounding success, achieving its goal of celebrating the unique and diverse friendships within our college. The event not only provided a platform for self-expression but also strengthened the bonds of friendship among students. All the students benefited from this event.
The Intra-Collegiate Talent Hunt Competition titled “Talent Spectrum” held on 26th and 27th July, 2024 was a resounding success, showcasing the diverse talents of the student body. Organized by the Cultural Committee, the event saw participation from approximately 230 students across various programmes and an audience of more than 350. Over 285 students had registered for the same. The competition aimed at discovering and nurturing the diverse talents of the students and providing a platform to express their artistic abilities.The event was divided into four major categories: Literary Arts, Performing Arts, Fine Arts and Informals and further divided into 11 sub-events like elocution, solo dance, musical instrument, poster-making, and rangoli among others.The event commenced at 10 a.m. on both days and the atmosphere was charged with excitement as students eagerly awaited their turns to perform. The music category witnessed soulful renditions of classical and contemporary pieces, while the dance performances ranged from traditional to modern styles, enthralling the audience. The literary arts segments brought out the expressive prowess of the participants and in the fine arts events, students displayed their creative masterpieces. The judges had a challenging task in evaluating the exceptional talent presented.The competition concluded with a grand awards ceremony, where winners in each category were felicitated followed by the announcement for the Best Class, with S.Y.B.Sc.IT-A receiving the title. The overall outcome of the event was overwhelmingly positive, with students expressing their joy and satisfaction at having had the opportunity to display their talents.
On Saturday, 6th July 2024, the Cultural Committee hosted a spectacular double celebration, marking both Chocolate Day and Twinning Day with great enthusiasm. The event saw students coming together in a vibrant display of creativity and community spirit.The campus was abuzz with excitement as students indulged in an array of delicious chocolate treats. In tandem with the sweet celebrations, Twinning Day added an extra layer of fun. Students and staff alike embraced the opportunity to dress up in matching outfits with their friends, creating a colorful and coordinated spectacle. The enthusiasm was evident, with students participating wholeheartedly in both celebrations. The event highlighted the strong sense of community on campus and provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to bond over shared interests and creative expression. Students' energy and creativity made it a day to remember!
Testament of our unity, strength and resilience
The Annual day was celebrated on Saturday, 6th January 2024 at Kutchi Ground, New Link Road, Borivali (West). The theme was ‘NAVRAS’, which depicted the social message through the different emotions of human beings. The highlights of the theme were saving animals, protection of girl child, along with the emotions of compassion, hasya, adbhut were also shown through various performances. 177 students participated in this vibrant event. The occasion was graced by the galaxy of the college management which included Director-Madam Arunaben Desai, Secretary- Ms. Dhara Desai, Treasurer- Ms. Trupti Shah and other members of the management like Mr. Siddhant Shah, Ms. Shraddha Shah, Mr. Milan Desai, Mr. Ajit Desai. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by the students and dignitaries and was thereby a memorable day.
Annual intercollegiate fest, Nirvaan 2024 on Thursday, 11th January, 2024 and Friday, 12th January, 2024
The event had an extremely Vibrant Theme "MUMBAI MERI JAAN". It was a platform for students across colleges in Mumbai to showcase their talents to assimilate elements of Mumbai through various performances.
The Management members of the Institute Ms. Aruna Desai, Dr. Denis Desai and Ms. Dhara Desai and I/C Principal Ms. Swiddle D’Cunha rendered great support and guidance to organize and execute Nirvaan 2024.
Mr. Rishabh Desai, Cultural Committee Convener and CA Diya Mukherjee, Cultural Committee Co-Convener took the lead to plan and hosting as many as 20 competitions in the fest, which were held flawlessly.
Around 900 participants from 66 plus colleges participated in Nirvaan 2024 with the footfall of more than 1200 students in the campus. The event was entirely managed and executed by NIRVAAN 2024 Core Committee of students including 60 volunteers helped by teaching and non-teaching staff of Junior and Degree sections. This mega event was a grand success for us NIRMALITES.

NIRVAAN is an intercollegiate Youth Festival organized and ably managed by the students of the college. It acts as an ideal platform for students to showcase their talent, boosts their confidence and nurtures their personalities. It provides students with an excellent opportunity to come together, work and interact as a cohesive whole, thereby building their experience through participation and fair competition. NIRVAAN is one of the upcoming and very promising college festivals in Mumbai. After the brilliant response last year, we are delighted to present NIRVAAN in January 2024. An array of events based on Management, Fine Arts, Media, IT & E-Sports, Informals, Literary and Performing Arts have been cued. The competitions organized are unique, stimulating and challenging.

Chief Guest of the Inauguration Ceremony of Nirvaan 2024: Mr. Raghunath Medge
Mr. Raghunath Medge, the Founder and President of the Mumbai Dabbawala Association, is known for his contribution in making sweeping changes in the Dabbawala delivery system.
With the Mumbai Dabbawala Association, over 5,000 dabbawalas have been in action for more than 125 decades, without any work stoppages. They deliver nearly 200,000 lunches every day on time. Their unique management & operational models have become subjects of management study beyond textbooks for international business schools.
Mr. Raghunath Medge while delivering his speech motivated the audience by sharing his personal experiences being the President of Mumbai Dabbawala Association. His message for the students was “Life is all about Efforts” without putting efforts there is no success. The way Dabbawala makes tiffin reach each customer before 12.30 noon is amazing. Therefore he concluded by saying “Hardwork is the key to success”.
Chief Guest of the Valedictory of Nirvan 2024: Mr. Pradip Gogate
Mr. Pradip Gogate is a profound Actor, Director and owner of Utkarsh Events & Production Events. He also manages shows of the renowned Celebrity, Orchestra Destination, Weddings, etc. He is a Planner of various well-known Shortfilm, Ads, Documentary Shoot., The director of various telecast shows during Valedictory ceremony mentioned that my Journey in life towards success is all because of consistency. Never give up attitude is the most important factor which must be followed by all the Youngsters. Mr. Gogate is also a winner of the prestigious Maharashtra “Kala Sanman Puraskar”

Mr. Kishor Mohite: Music director, Composer and Singer. Have composed and done music arrangements for few regional (Marathi, Bhojpuri & Hindi) music albums. Played Benjo(Bulbultarnag) for songs in Marathi super hit movies, like Time Pass, Sangto Aika, Agabai Arrechya and many more. Performed as an instrumentalist on stage with well-known music directors Ajay-Atul in their shows.

Social Responsibility- a Key Objective Met Successfully
Every year, the theme of Nirvaan is unique, and a social responsibility activity is also carried out with it. This year, Sneha Milan, an exhibition-cum-sale was organised on Saturday, 16th December, 2023 in which around 25 NGOs and Specially abled Social Entrepreneurs participated by putting 27 stalls. They displayed their products and set up stalls of food articles too. The entire proceeds of the sale went to all the participants. Our institute strived to give wide publicity to the event to ensure maximum visitors.
The Cultural Committee had organised an event titled “Western Dress Day” on Saturday, 23 rd December, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. It was a vibrant and lively event that showcased an amalgamation of diverse western fashion styles, fostering a spirit of creativity among the students. Held in the Chowk Area, the event drew enthusiastic participation from students from all the programmes. The celebration began with some fun and games followed by a dazzling dance performance by Mr. Pratham Mhatre. The crowd cheered as Mr. Suyash Rode then took over the stage and mesmerised the audience with his singing. Mr. Sahil Chavan accompanied him with his electric guitar. Students adorned themselves in a kaleidoscope of western attire, presenting a blend of elegant suits, vibrant dresses and denim ensembles. The campus radiated with enthusiasm as students flaunted their unique interpretations of western fashion. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the games and with best wishes for the upcoming Christmas holidays.
Bridge the gap through your skills
The Cultural Committee organized “Skill Development Workshops” from Monday, 11th December 2023 to Friday, 15th December 2023. Workshops were as follows:
A Make-up Workshop was organized on Monday, 11th December 2023. The concept of peer learning was successfully carried out through this workshop. Our SYBMS, student Ms. Komal Sawant undertook the workshop for 15 students and gave them hands-on training for daily make-up to keep themselves up-to-date. Students learned the art of make- up with a lot of enthusiasm. Origami Workshop was organized on Wednesday, 13th December 2023. An expert in origami, Ms. Ashmita Dabholkar was the resource person for the workshop. The art of decorating Christmas tree with origami art was skill-fully taught to the students. 40 students participated in this workshop. Reel making Workshop was organized on Friday, 15th December 2023. Mr. Amit Vishwakarma, an alumnus of our college, was the resource person for the workshop. 28 students were given hands-on experience of making the reel and uploading it on social media. He also discussed methods of increasing the number of viewers and subscribers for your YouTube channel or Instagram page. The objective of Skill Development Workshops was to develop a passion for learning skills, learn something new, hands-on experience to build up the skills.
The traditional day celebration in our college was a memorable event that showcased the rich cultural diversity and heritage of our institution. Held on 15 th September 2023, it was a day filled with enthusiasm, colours, and traditional flavour.
Event Highlights
The day began with an inaugural ceremony in the college auditorium, where the principal, professors, and guest of honour were present. A prayer dance by SY.B.com Student Minaxi added a spiritual touch to the proceedings. To add an element of fun, Games like Busting the balloons, stacking the chairs, push up for boys and Gravity game for girls were organized. These games
fostered teamwork and a sense of nostalgia among the participants. The heart of the celebration was the cultural performances by our Alumnus Song and Guitar performance by Siddesh Khaire ,beat boxing by Suyash surve that showcased the talent and
creativity. There were traditional dance performances by our student Melina and Anushka ,Iqra and Hilary and Yuvraj.
Students and faculty members came dressed in a variety of traditional attire representing different states and cultures of India. Best Attire competition was held where the winner from boys was Jigar and from girls . We were honored to have Ms. Bhakti , a renowned [profession] and [area of expertise], as the chief guest for the event. She shared valuable insights into the importance of preserving our traditions and heritage in the modern world.

The celebration ended with a sense of pride in our traditions and a commitment to continue celebrating and preserving our cultural heritage. It was a day that will be etched in our memories for years to come, and we look forward to more such celebrations in the future.

The Fine Arts Competition, titled “Palette of Possibilities”, was held on Saturday, August 19th, 2023, it was an inspiring event that brought together talented artists from various backgrounds to showcase their creativity and artistic prowess. The competition aimed to provide a platform for artists to display their artwork, and celebrate the diverse world of fine arts.
Event Highlights:
The competition featured a wide array of artistic genres, including bottle painting, nail art, poster making and tattoo making.
Ms. Priti Patil was invited as the judge to evaluate the artworks based on criteria such as creativity, technical skill, concept, and depiction of theme. The winners were recognized and awarded with medals in a ceremony that concluded the competition.
As the curtains closed on this year's competition, participants and visitors alike left with a renewed appreciation for fine arts.

The cultural committee of the college organized Friendship and Chocolate day on Tuesday, 08th August, 2023. It was a resounding success, fostering a sense of unity and appreciation among students. Students enjoyed the fun filled Bollywood quiz played in the classrooms, an interactive Friendship wall was set up where students could share their thoughts and expressions of friendship and stalls were put up by the learners for the sale of friendship bands, chocolates and gifts.
The 56th Youth Festival Workshop for Zone III and Zone V was held on Monday, July 10, 2023, by the college's cultural committee in collaboration with the Department of Students Development. Respected Principal, Honourable Mr. Nilesh Save, Cultural Coordinator at University of Mumbai, officially inaugurated the workshop. There were five sessions planned for the programme. Additionally present for the session and speaking to the audience were the Zonal Coordinators Dr. Dadarao Mhaske, Mr. Mahesh Deshmukh, Mr. Alok Hardikar, Dr. Monica Penkar, and Dr. Deepti Sadvelkar. Live demonstrations by University of Mumbai artists are used in each session to clarify the guidelines, concepts, and standards for each event.The training was attended by 125 cultural conveners and student coordinators.
The “SNEHA MILAN” is a social initiative undertaken as a part of “NIRVAAN” the intercollegiate cultural festival. The event was organized on Friday, 13 th January 2023 from10.00 am to 5.00 pm. The NGOs, schools and social organisations working for specially abled people to earn their livelihood were invited to exhibit and sell their products. Around 20 organisations actively participated in exhibition. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Rane, specially abled cricketer and player of T20 cricket tournament.
The event was supported by Lion’s club of Mahavir Nagar by sponsoring refreshments for the participants during the event. The volunteers of DLLE committee assist participants to sell their products in exhibition. During the exhibition free paper bags were distributed by Kandivali Recycling Centre to promote the usage of paper bags and avoid plastic bags.
The exhibition included handicraft items, fabric based products, soaps, wall hanging, candles, jewellery, chocolates all made by specially abled. The primary objective of the event was to provide platform to sell and promote the products made by specially abled. All the stakeholders of the college showed overwhelming response towards the event. The total sales made during exhibition was Rs.1,45,87/-. The participants of exhibition were delighted by the response received from college and showed keen interest to be associated with college in future too.

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science organised Splash 2.0, an intracollegiate event under the leadership of the Management, Academic Director, Principal of degree college, Coordinators, teachers and the non-teaching staff. As the name suggests, Splash 2.0 is the second edition of this intracollegiate competition. This year too, it encompassed a wide array of activities, competitions and an opportunity for learners to experience entrepreneurship and apply it real time. Held on two days, Splash 2.0 commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony at 12.00 noon on 30 th January, 2023, and then proceeded with a range of talent competitions.

Competitions, Food Stalls and Gaming Corners- an Initiative to Inculcate Entrepreneurship amongst Learners. On Day 2, i.e., 01 February, 2023, learners, under the guidance and encouragement of professors for days in advance, set up stalls of food and games on the campus as part of Splash 2.0.
Every division across all programs participated in the activity. Learners who set up food stalls offered a wide variety of cuisine, consisting of snacks and beverages. All the food articles were priced Rs. 20 or below, which made it possible for everyone to relish the mouth-watering varieties to their heart’s content. In addition, the games were also priced up to Rs. 20, which made for pocket-friendly entertainment and fun.
The competitions that took place on Day 2 are as follows:
They were held for all the programs in separate segments. The learners depicted a variety of concepts via the themes set for each competition. Some teachers also participated in fashion show along with the students. Winners of competitions on both the days were awarded certificates and cash prizes. A finale act was performed, and valedictory was also duly conducted as the culmination of the event.
Objective:
The objective was to encourage the learners to experience trading, persuasion and earning profits at a micro level. It also included inducing the customer to buy products/ services to hone business skills. Prizes for best stall were also given to learners who displayed the best product, quality and arrangements.
Since all the food articles, beverages and games were affordable at Rs. 20, it was possible for everyone to try out a lot of things on offer. The learners, who set up their stalls, earned brisk profits and gained experience sure to benefit them in future. The institute has undertaken wide-ranging efforts to give practical exposure to learners throughout the year to learners. Splash 2.0 is one such initiative that met with enthusiastic response from every stakeholder, apart from the learners, teachers and non-teaching staff who were a part of this fete.

Themed ‘Indian Vibes with a Western Twist’, Nirvaan 2023 this year has been a platform for students across colleges in Mumbai to showcase their talents to assimilate Indian and Western elements through various performances.
The Management members of the Institute Ms. Aruna Desai, Dr. Denis Desai and Ms. Dhara Desai and I/C Principal Ms. Swiddle D’Cunha rendered unstinting support and guidance to organise and execute Nirvaan 2023.
Dr. Poonam Kakkad, Cultural Committee Convener and IQAC Co-ordinator, and Mr. Rishabh Desai, Assistant Cultural Committee Convener, took the lead to plan and host as many as 33 competitions in the fest, which were held flawlessly.
Around 700 participants from 50 plus colleges participated in Nirvaan 2023.

Chief Guest of the Inauguration Ceremony of Nirvaan 2023: Mr. Rajesh Pakhare, noted Line Producer who has achieved the best ad film made for Akashaia Gold Mines in Africa. He has also worked with Amir Khan for Vivo Mobile advertisement and with Ranveer Singh for Colgate tooth paste advertisement. Mr. Pakhare’s son is currently studying at our institute. Having Mr. Pakhare as a judge has given us an opportunity to become more inclusive in our approach. Parents are our valued stakeholders, and collaborating with them is definitely a positive step.

the University of Mumbai. He is also a theatre artist and has appeared in serials and films. He has also won prestigious awards in the course of his career journey.

Mr Vaibhav Agrawal is a Defence Correspondent at Frontier India and Mission Victory India. He has worked as a journalist with various online platforms. He is also talented as a professional musician.
Mr Sohil Vora, an Alumnus of 2011 batch
Mr Sohil Vora is a Deputy Manager at Vistara Airlines. The Guests of Honour were invited for the inaugural function of Nirvaan 2023. After a grand inauguration ceremony, the events commenced in full swing and lasted throughout the evening on both the days.

On Saturday, 18th December, the Cultural Committee of the College had organised Nirmala's Got Talent -2021 and gave a platform to students to showcase their talents in the category of Dance, Singing,, Photography and Musical Instruments. The Winners for Each Category were felicitated on this day. Boys of Band gave a Live Performance and added glory to the show.
On 10th of January, 2020, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce & Science conducted "NIRMALA'S GOT TALENT" in the college premises. The program was conducted with the focus of encouraging our students to comeforth and show case their talents. The various events included therein were :

Cultural Committee celebrated Friendship Day and Chocolate day on 16th August 2019 for Degree College students with great enthusiasm, fun fare, music and dance. Students presented chocolates to each which depicted their friendship, Dance competition was held for the students who were selected from the semi final round conducted on 13th August 2019.
The judges for the dance competition were the founders of Nupur Dance Academy, Mrs Heena S. Sanghvi and Mrs. Hetal D Shah. They are masters in various dance forms like Bharat Natyam, Folk Dance and Western Dances. 15 students performed in the competition which comprised of various forms like classical, hip hop, bollywood, lavni, Folk Dance and so on. Audience enjoyed all the performances. Judges were highly impressed with the talent of all participants and had a tough time selecting the winners. The judges also performed for the students and motivated them.
