A light that shone the brightest and still illuminates young minds at Nirmala Memorial Foundation is the guiding force who continues to inspire us each moment. Not a day passes when we don’t remember and feel gratitude for the power who founded the institute and has molded us all- it’s none other than Late Shri Thakorbhai N. Desai, our beloved Dadaji- the legendary educationist, philanthropist and a crusader who took education to the grassroot level. This is the stratum in our society that battles scarcity of resources and the right to dream and make a successful life. These are the members of our society who cannot pursue quality education and therefore end up giving up their dreams- the poor and the downtrodden who may never receive education if it is not for reformers and visionaries like Dadaji.

Born and brought up in Umarsadi, a tiny village in Valsad, Gujarat, Shri T.N. Desai was destined to make a difference literally to hundreds and thousands of lives. Right from the start, he was committed to educating youngsters from the humble sections of the society.

Having moved to Mumbai from Valsad at a tender age for completing higher education, Dadaji soon took on the responsibility of imparting education early in life. He commenced his journey as an Assistant Teacher. That, as they say, was just the beginning. Through the course of his career journey, Dadaji excelled at several frontiers of education. Apart from being awarded the best teacher by the state government, Dadaji won several other accolades in his illustrious career.

Dadaji was not only a teacher, but also a great leader, inspiration and guide. The institute was established with humble beginnings, as it catered to children halining from the underprivileged background. Gradually, it grew in scope, and encompassed within its fold more learners from diverse backgrounds, but never lost sight of its goal of providing quality education to the humble.

The institute flourished and soon, and attained fame and recognition since it was helmed by Dadaji, an educationist par excellence.  Over the years, Dadaji's vision made it possible for the institute to open more branches in the western suburbs to facilitate education at the college level and beyond.

Today, Nirmala Memorial Foundation offers courses from Kindergarten to postgraduate level and beyond, including professional courses like B.Ed.

A number of new courses are also in the offing, which is a reflection of the Management's vision and ability to further the cause that dear Dadaji dedicated his life to.

Today, Dadaji may be no more with us, but his values, blessings and determination to spread the light of education inspires us to excel, and motivates us to prove ourselves worthy of being destined to be apart of his life, institute and dreams.
