Careers in the Aviation Industry

The Placement Cell of the college, in collaboration with Evolve Aviation Academy, organized a seminar on "Careers in the Aviation Industry" on Wednesday, 26th March 2025, at 9:00 AM in Block No. 410. The seminar aimed to provide students with valuable insights into various career opportunities in the aviation sector and equip them with knowledge about industry trends and requirements.Experts from Evolve Aviation Academy then conducted an engaging presentation on different career prospects, including roles in airline management, cabin crew, air traffic control, ground handling, and aviation safety.The speakers elaborated on the essential skills required in the industry, such as leadership, communication, problem-solving, and adaptability. They also highlighted the significance of creativity and futuristic thinking in shaping the aviation sector. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Evolve Aviation Academy for their insightful session. Students found the seminar highly informative and beneficial in broadening their understanding of the aviation sector. Total 81 students benefited from the seminar. Overall, the event was a great success, offering students an opportunity to explore diverse career possibilities and motivating them to develop essential skills for the aviation industry. 
 

The Art of Effective Communication

The Placement Cell organized a highly engaging workshop titled "The Art of Effective Communication" for all registered students on 27th January, 2025 at the College Auditorium at 10: 30 a.m. The event, which saw an impressive attendance of 160 students, aimed at enhancing both verbal and non-verbal communication skills crucial for professional success.  The workshop was led by Ms. Bhuvaneshwari Venkatesh, an expert in communication strategies with years of experience in corporate training. Throughout the session, students were introduced to various techniques and insights that can significantly improve their interaction skills, both in personal and professional settings. 
The key areas covered during the workshop included: 
1. Verbal Communication: 
Students were taught how to effectively structure their speech, improve their clarity, and make their conversations more impactful. Emphasis was placed on tone modulation, active listening, and speaking with confidence. 
2. Non-Verbal Communication: 
The importance of body language, facial expressions, gestures, and posture was highlighted. Students learned how non-verbal cues can complement or contradict verbal communication, and how to use them to enhance their message. 
Through a combination of interactive discussions, real-life examples, and practical exercises, participants gained valuable skills that will aid them in job interviews, group discussions, and professional networking. The workshop received positive feedback from students, with many expressing that the session helped them recognize the power of effective communication and its role in achieving career success.
 

JOB FAIR 2024-2025

The Placement Cell of the college organised Job Fair from Tuesday, 04th February to Thursday, 06th February 2025 in the college campus from 10: 00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The inauguration of the Job Fair was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, gracefully officiated by our esteemed Principal Ma'am Dr. Swiddle D’Cunha, Vice – Principal Dr. Poonam Kakkad, along with the members of the Placement Team, setting the stage for an exciting three-day event filled with opportunities and growth. The Job Fair was a resounding success, bringing together over 60 renowned companies like JP Morgan Chase, TCS, Netflix, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank and more from various industries under one roof. The event provided a valuable platform for job seekers and employers to connect, explore opportunities, and build relationships that could lead to exciting career prospects.Spanning three days, the fair attracted a diverse crowd, from different programmes. Companies offering job openings in a wide variety of fields, including technology, finance, marketing, media, retail, human resource, participated in the event. These companies were eager to engage with potential candidates and offer them opportunities across multiple profiles. Job seekers had the chance to interact with recruiters and submit their resumes on the spot. For many, it was a unique opportunity to receive on-the-spot interviews, gain insights into different industries, and learn about the qualifications and skills required for various roles. Many companies found the right talent for their open positions, while job seekers left the fair with new possibilities and hope for their future careers.The 3-day Job Fair from was an exceptional event that served as a bridge between job seekers and employers. It not only highlighted the wide range of available job profiles but also emphasized the importance of networking and staying informed in today’s competitive job market.The total number of 745 participants attending. Feedback from employers was gathered regarding curriculum development, aiming to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
 

 

Career Counselling Seminar

In collaboration with Trivedi Global Education under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the college organized a highly informative career counseling seminar on the topic “Why Explore Opportunities Abroad?” for Third Year learners of the IT & CS Department. The seminar took place on Friday, 24th January 2025 at 08:15 am in Block No. 607. During his address, Mr. Desai highlighted the key benefits of pursuing education and career opportunities abroad, including exposure to diverse cultures, access to world-class educational institutions, and enhanced career prospects. He also shared valuable insights into the application process, scholarship opportunities, and strategies to adapt to new environments. A total of 50 students from the Third Year Bsc IT & CS program were a part of the informative session. Outcome: Students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn from an industry expert and acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in shaping their future.

Career Counselling Seminar

In collaboration with Trivedi Global Education under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the college organized a highly informative career counseling seminar on the topic “Why Explore Opportunities Abroad? ”The seminar took place on Friday, 20th December 2024, at 11:00 AM in Block No. 506.The seminar aimed to enlighten students about the various opportunities available abroad for higher education and career growth. The guest speaker for the session, Mr. Mihir Desai, a renowned expert in global education and career counseling, delivered a thought-provoking presentation. A total of 50 students from the First, Second Year and Third Year were a part of the informative session. Outcome: The career counseling seminar was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on students and motivating them to explore global opportunities.
 

How to make use of the LinkedIn Account

In collaboration with ICFAI Business School, the college had organized a Student Development Programme for Third year students of all programmes and M.Com Students.Topic : “ How to make use of the LinkedIn account” Date : Tuesday, 24th September, 2024 Time : 9am Venue : Auditorium (Ground Floor) The session was taken by: Prof. Krishnan R (Professor in ICFAI , B.Tech (IIT Bombay) and IIM-C)

The Placement cell of our college in association with IMS organised a Seminar and Demo Lecture on the topic on “How to Prepare for IELTS” to get good colleges abroad on Tuesday, 13th August, 2024 and took a demo lecture on Wednesday, 14th August, 2024.

The main objective of this Program was to educate the students on the curriculum of IELTS for going abroad.Various opportunities and prospects available to build their career in their field of interest and stay back policies in foreign countries.The Seminar was conducted for the better understanding of the IELTS Test. Total number of beneficiaries was 55.

Soft Skills Training for Interviews

Placement Cell of our college in association with TechnoServe organised a seminar on the topic “Soft Skill Training For Interviews” on Wednesday, 14th August, 2024 starting from 7.30 am. TechnoServe’s Campus to Corporate Careers (C2C) Program provides final year students, interactive blend of skills training, career counseling and corporate linkages to develop their skills and build agency over their careers through hands-on.The program unlocked the economic potential of these young people by helping them kick start their careers in the formal sector, ultimately leading to improved family incomes.It was a great opportunity to understand how to present oneself with effective soft skills that enhance one’s candidature. The Speaker provided insights into the details of soft skills and the mistakes that should be avoided while presenting onself. Total number of beneficiaries was 100. It was an enriching experience for all the participants.

Resume Building Workshop

A Live workshop was conducted by Placement Cell for Module IV on the subject of Fundamentals of People's Skills. The session was conducted by Ms. Bhuvaneshwari N. Venkatesh (passionate trainer)on "Resume Building" for the students in the college auditorium (Nirmala Hall). Students were directed to avail the benefits of the workshop. The session was attended by BMS, BAF, B.COM, BAMMC, BSC(IT) and BSC(CS) Almost All students from the first year attended the session. It was a great opportunity to understand how to build an effective resume that enhances one’s candidature. The Speaker provided insights into the details of resume building and the mistakes that should be avoided while crafting a resume. It was an enriching experience for all the participants.

Education and Career Fair, 2023-24

Placement Cell of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce & Science had organized an Education and Career Fair, 2023-24 on Monday, 11th March 2024.

The objective of conducting the Education and Career Fair was to provide an amazing platform to current students and our alumni to grab the Internship, Part time and Full-time employment opportunities in various reputed technical and non-technical companies. The platform was kept open for all the students from undergraduate to postgraduate level.

This mega event was inaugurated by the Principal Ms. Swiddle D’Cunha with the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony. An inaugural ceremony for the Education and Job Fair was held on Monday, 11thMarch 2024 at 9:30a.m.

The Program started as the companies and other dignitaries arrived at the college premises near around 9:30am. The Placement Cell Convenor, Dr. Neha Goel and All the members of placement cell welcomed the Guests, CEOs, Directors, Managers, and HRs of various giant and start-up companies.

Students were pre-guided about different opportunities and avenues that were available in this great program. It was a great opportunity for students to express themselves and get placed in the top companies.

Students from various departments registered for the program. More than 711 students across several disciplines had participated in the Education and Career Fair.

The response and participation of students was amazing. The feedback of students was also excellent as various technical and non-technical companies participated to hire the talents of Nirmalites.

Companies were also very happy to see the participation and interests of students. There was a huge crowd and queue waiting for the interview. At the same time companies had also given amazing feedback to the management of our college and organizing committee. They were happy to see the talents of our students.

The Placement cell of our college in association with Amigo Aviation organised a seminar on the topic “What next after graduation” on Friday, 16th February , 2024 at 11.30 am for class to class interaction.

The Placement cell in collaboration with IBS institute organised a seminar on “Interview Soft Skills” for all students of all programs at our college on Tuesday, 6th February, 2024 at 11.00 am in room no 705.

The session was taken by the well-learned faculty of IBS institute, who also provide corporate training.

Placement cell organised a seminar with B. Com and M.Com Departments in collaboration with Aptech Institute on the topic ‘Resume Building, Linkedin account and Interview Etiquette“ on Monday, 05 th February 2024.

“Aptitude Test” exclusively for all TY students of all programs

The Placement cell in collaboration with the Department of B.Sc (IT & CS) of Jai Hind College organised an “Aptitude Test” exclusively for all TY students of all programs at our college on Wednesday, 31st January, 2024 at 10.00 am in their respective classes.

The Test was conducted by Jai Hind College on their software. This gives an idea of career decisions of individual students. After the aptitude test candidates will also be assisted by the placement cell of Jai Hind college.

Agenda: Placements according to Score in Aptitude test Attendance was compulsory.

The results will be declared to students as and when they will be received by the college.

The Placement cell organised “Counselling Sessions” exclusively for all TY students of all programs at our college on Thursday, 29th January, 2024 from 10.15am in their respective classes

This session gives the idea to students regarding the activities and sessions organise by the placement cell and tries to motivate the students to apply in maximum companies.

Aptitude Test exclusively for B.Sc (IT & CS)

The Placement cell and Department of B.Sc (IT & CS) in collaboration with Quastech organised an “Aptitude Test” exclusively for B.Sc (IT & CS) on Saturday, 23rd December, 2023 at 10.00 am in room no 606 (6th Floor).

The Test was conducted by Quastech.

This scholarship program name was Full Stack Development and this exam had few questions related to IT (From the syllabus which candidates had already studied) Candidates would be given an aptitude test for scholarship conducted by Quastech.

After Aptitude Test some Candidates could get a chance for Scholarship courses worth RS 60000/- free of cost. After free training candidates will also be placed by QUASTECH.

Training and Placement Officers and Volunteers Meet with First Source Consultancy

First source consultancy organised a Training and Placement officers and volunteers meet on
Friday, 29th September, 2023 at 3 pm.
Two student volunteers for Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science
went for the meeting to gain the update for requirements of the company.

2) Health care (BMS)
3) Telecommunications & medical ( Amazon)

It was a great experience for our student volunteers. It boosts up their confidence to talk to
various HR of different companies. The college also received the job description for the vacancy
of few fresh graduates and alumni for job opportunities.

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science organised a class to class session on the topic “Soft Skill Training For Interviews” on Wednesday, 13th September, 2023 starting from 7.30 am by TechnoServe.

The Placement cell of our college in association with Trade with Jazz (TWJ) organised a 30 hours course on “Share Trading & Personality Development programme” , exclusively for female students.

Trade with Jazz is a government registered company, providing education of share market and stock world to the youth.

Monster Zuno was having a webinar session to help our college students learn “How to kickstart business ideas” and begin their entrepreneurial journey with insights from renowned founders of leading brands to guide them in their career ahead.

The event was absolutely free of cost.

Around all programmes of 15 students participated in the session. Seminar on Career Guidance for Third Year Learners of B.Sc. IT & B.Sc. CS

The Department of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS had organized a Seminar on “Career Guidance”
in association with Placement Cell of NMFC on 24th July 2023, from 10.15 am to 11.45 am
in the Main Auditorium of our college, Ground Floor.

This seminar was exclusively organized for the third year students of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS.The Career Guidance Seminar was conducted by versatile personality, Mr. Wilson Pinto, Head, Training and Placement Cell, St. Francis Institute of Technology.

Mr. Wilson Pinto is an experienced academic professional with a thorough knowledge of Training & Placement and he demonstrated history of setting up Industry Institute Interaction Cell at Engineering Colleges like SNDT Women's University, Don Bosco and Pillai Group. He has more than two decades of experience in teaching at Engineering and Management schools with additional expertise in academic administration. Presently he is working on research in the field of Social Entrepreneurship for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) study from Tata Institute of Social Sciences University.

Total 107 students took the benefit of Career Guidance Seminar.

Grooming and Personality Development Program by Gillette Guard

Placement Cell of the College in association with Gillette Guard organized the Grooming
and Personality Development Program on Saturday, 8th April, 2023 at 10.00 a.m. in Block
No. 705, was led by Mr. Karan Bachhav, Gillette Brand Presenter, who shared valuable insights and tips on grooming and personality development.
The program was attended by 30 participants. It helped to equip students with the necessary skills for professional growth and success.
All participants of the program received a free gift from Gillette Guard, and e-certificates were provided to acknowledge their participation and completion of the program.
Furthermore, the program presented a unique opportunity for students to enhance their job
prospects, as well-groomed participants were considered for a full-time job opportunity at
Gillette.

Education and Job Fair, 2022-23

Placement Cell of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce & Science had organized an Education and Job Fair, 2022-23 on Saturday, 18th March 2023.

The objective of conducting Education and Job Fair was to provide an amazing platform to current students and our alumni to grab the Internship, Part time and Full-time employment opportunities in various reputed technical and non-technical companies. The platform was kept open for all the students from undergraduate to postgraduate level.

This mega event was inaugurated by the Principal Ms. Swiddle D’Cunha with the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony. An inaugural ceremony for the Education and Job Fair was held on Saturday, 18th March 2023 at 10:00 a.m. 

The Program started as the companies and other dignitaries arrived at the college premises near around 10:00 am. The Placement Cell Convenor, Dr. Neha Goel and All the members of placement cell welcomed the Guests, CEOs, Directors, Managers, and HRs of various giant and start-up companies.

Students were pre-guided about different opportunities and avenues that were available in this great program. It was a great opportunity for students to express themselves and get placed in the top companies.

Students from various departments registered for the program. More than 250 students across several disciplines had participated in the Education and Job Fair. 

The response and participation of students was amazing. The feedback of students was also excellent as various technical and non-technical companies participated to hire the talents of Nirmalites.

Companies were also very happy to see the participation and interests of students. There was a huge crowd and queue waiting for interview. At the same time companies had also given the amazing feedback to the management of our college and organizing committee. They were happy to see the talents of our students.

Webinar on “Study Abroad Opportunities in USA, Canada & Australia”

 

The Placement Cell, in collaboration with COMPUTRAIN, organised a seminar focused on "Study Abroad Opportunities in USA, Canada & Australia" on Friday, 16th September, 2022. The session was led by Ms. Karuna Vishwakarma, Marketing Head at Computrain.

 

The agenda encompassed essential topics including raising awareness about educational prospects in the USA, Canada, and Australia, elucidating eligibility criteria, financial planning, exploring job prospects, and understanding post-education residency options. The speaker visited all classes across various programs and provided valuable information regarding prerequisites, budgeting, job prospects, and post-education residency options abroad. Impressively, the seminar attracted an audience of nearly 230 participants.

 

Overall, the session left an indelible mark, offering a rich and enlightening experience for all attendees.

 

5 hours certified course by National Stock Exchange

The Placement cell of the college organised a 5 hours certified course from National Stock Exchange , sponsored by HDFC bank. This is free of cost and helps in getting job opportunities.  A session has been organized for briefing the students about the course duration, curriculum and other details on Wednesday, 27th September 2022 at 12noon. The session will be conducted on Offline. Almost 67 participants attended the session. It was a very learning experience  for all. The speaker gave an insight of personality and soft skills in the aviation Industry.   It was an overwhelming experience for all the participants.

The Placement Cell of our college was providing opportunities in collaboration with Imarticus Learning a PLACEMENT DRIVE in our esteemed college for All Last year and pass out students. The Seminar will be conducted on Monday, 19th September, 2022 at 7.45 am in room no. 711.

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science is organising a seminar on “Soft Skill Training For Interviews” on Wednesday, 12th August, 2022 at 11.30 am by TechnoServe in Block no 705. Technoserve provides the job placement after completing the above training programmes.

The Placement Cell of our college, in collaboration with Fly High Aviation, organized a seminar on the topic of 'Career Guidance in the Aviation and Hospitality Industry' on Wednesday and Thursday, July 6th and 7th, 2022. The speaker visited each block of all programs. A total of 363 students benefited from this event. 

 

The sessions were conducted by Mr. Nishideep, who has extensive experience in the Administration Department of the Aviation industry. The speaker discussed career opportunities in aviation, hospitality, travel tourism, and customer service industries, emphasizing 100% placement assistance and growth prospects. 

 

This event provided an excellent and value-driven experience for the students. The speaker offered valuable insights into diverse career opportunities within the Aviation Industry. Additionally, he addressed the importance of building confidence and developing public speaking skills. It proved to be an overwhelmingly positive experience for all participants.



 

Seminar on OPPORTUNITIES IN MARKET AND NQT IMPORTANCE by TCS ION

 

The Placement Cell in collaboration with TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES (TCS), successfully organized a Seminar focusing on "OPPORTUNITIES IN MARKET AND NQT IMPORTANCE” on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 10 .00 a.m.

 

The session was conducted by Ms. Aditi, a distinguished speaker, trainer, and coach at TCS. The agenda for the seminar covered two pivotal topics: firstly, the abundance of opportunities available in the market, and secondly, guidance on navigating through TCS.

 

With utmost dedication, the speaker visited each block of all classes within the B.Sc IT/CS program, ensuring that valuable insights were shared with every student. This informative session proved to be immensely beneficial, with a total of 136 students gaining valuable knowledge and insights. It was a remarkable occasion for students to learn about the extensive array of opportunities facilitated by TCS ION.

The Placement Cell in collaboration with HDFC Life Insurance Pvt Ltd., organised a seminar titled "Career Opportunities in the Insurance Industry" on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 8:30 am. The session was expertly conducted by Mr. Praveen More, an Assistant Manager at HDFC Life Insurance.

 

During the seminar, a comprehensive agenda was addressed with the students, encompassing topics such as exploring insurance as a viable second career path, understanding the advantages of the insurance industry, enhancing overall personality and grooming, honing interview preparation skills, refining interpersonal abilities, and building confidence.

 

Mr. Praveen More exhibited great dedication as he visited each block of all programs, providing students with invaluable insights into the diverse and promising career opportunities within the insurance sector. The event saw a remarkable turnout, with 207 students actively participating with enthusiasm. The seminar left an indelible mark on all participants, offering a wealth of knowledge and a newfound sense of enthusiasm for potential careers in the insurance industry.

Hands-on technical workshop on Robotic Process Automation for M.Sc. IT Students

The Placement Cell of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science and M.Sc. (I.T) department had organized a hands-on technical workshop on Robotic Process Automation for M.Sc. IT Students. The workshop was held on Saturday, 30th April, 2022 from 9:00am to 1:30pm

The sessions was conducted by:

The main motive of this workshop was to give free experiential training on RPA  tool i.e ‘UI Path’. Using this tool, a resource person introduced students about how to create automated scripts for a few human defined tasks of a website, how to build prototypes and how to test them.

The Placement Cell of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science and B.Sc(I.T/C.S) department had organized a hands-on technical workshop  on UI/UX Technology for M.Sc. IT Students. The webinar was on Saturday, 19th March, 2022 from 9:00am to 1:30pm

The sessions was conducted by:

The main motive of this workshop was to give free experiential training on UI/UX design tool i.e ‘Figma’. Using this tool resource person introduced students about how to Iterate and produce deliverables, how to build prototypes and tests and how to have smooth handoff of a project.

Webinar for NCS registration

The Directorate General of Employment, Ministry of Labour and Employment is implementing the National Career Service (NCS) Project to address the gaps in the employment market by strategic interventions and partnership with leading institutions/universities and organizations. National Career Service is a common platform that brings together Job Seekers, Employers, Counsellors, Skill Providers, Placement Organizations and other stakeholders to facilitate convergence of information and provide services like job search, job matching, short listing of candidates, scheduling of interviews, selection of candidates etc.

NCS is collaborating with MoHRD/AISHE to register final year students of universities/  colleges/ technical institutions on the NCS portal. With reference to the communication sent  by AISHE, final year students can register on NCS portal as Jobseekers to access the various  career related services available on the portal. 

Webinar on “Lead The Way: Public Speaking”

Placement Cell of our college in collaboration with AIESEC in Mumbai (local  chapter of AIESEC, the world's largest youth run organization, present in 127+  countries and territories), organised a Webinar especially for our esteemed  college students on the Topic “Lead The Way: Public Speaking” on Saturday,  19th June, 2021 at 5pm. 

This event was help to gain some insights about the reason behind confident  public speakers and students would have got to know about a few tips which  will make them a better public speaker. 

As they say, "only the prepared speakers deserve to be confident." 

The session was taken by renowned speaker who holds an experience of many  years in this field.
