Third Alumni Meet

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce & Science in association with Alumni Association had organized the Third Alumni Meet on Saturday, 6th May, 2023 from 11.00 a.m. onwards. More than hundred alumni from different programmes and academic batches attended the program.
The program commenced with great enthusiasm as former students from over the years had assembled, many of them after ages.
Ms. Sneha Mishra was the host of the program. She started the program with full zeal and enthusiasm.
She welcomed the dignitaries, I/C Principal Ms. Swiddle D’Cunha, Vice-Principal and B.Com. HoD Dr. Jignesh Dalal, IQAC, BMS and BAF Departments Coordinator Dr. Poonam Kakkad, B.Sc. IT & B.Sc. CS Coordinator Ms. Vaishali Mishra , BAMMC Coordinator Ms. Bhavana Singh.
Traditional lamp lighting and invoking of Goddess Saraswati rituals were performed in which the dignitaries partook devotedly.
A PPT and video showcasing the accomplishments, newly introduced facilities and achievements of college were played for the audience.
The dignitaries were then invited and requested to be seated at the stage.
The I/C Principal was requested to share inaugural views. She extended a very warm and affectionate welcome to the Alumni members. 
She also informed them about the recently launched Alumni Association of NMFC, and invited all the present Alumni members to enrol as members. The objective, she said, is to build a deeper bond between the former students and the college for mutual enrichment and growth.
Launch of the College Magazine The Nirmalite 2021-22 
Alumni Meet witnessed the formal launch of The Nirmalite 2021-22, the annul college magazine. A PPT depicting the making of the magazine was shown, followed by formal unveiling of the magazine at the hand of the dignitaries present. 
The student Magazine Committee members who had worked hard on the magazine and made it possible for the publication to be launched successfully were invited on the stage. They were felicitated by the I/C Principal with Appreciation Letters, and thanked by all the dignitaries for all the efforts they made.


Speeches by the Alumni
The next segment of the occasion was the touching speeches that the Alumni made. They reminisced their college days, spoke fondly about the teachers, and appreciated how the college moulded them and made it possible for them to excel in life.
An alumni also rendered songs accompanied to the tune of the guitar that he played, and kept the audience captivated.

College Tour
The Alumni were subsequently invited to take a college tour so they could visit the campus and revive old memories all over again. They were fascinated to see the changes and facilities like the new venue of the college Library, and expressed great happiness.
It was then time for lunch, which was served in the vicinity of the main auditorium. 
The attendees were delighted at the delicious spread. They were then given a loving farewell, but were asked to be in touch as part of Alumni Association, forever.
It was great time meeting our stars scattered in the sky and making us proud.

Alumnus Talk on Media Maven Knowing Digiplomacy and unlocking Skills Beyond Leadership

The Department of BAMMC organised an Alumnus Talk session titled "Media Maven: Knowing Digiplomacy and Unlocking Skills Beyond Leadership” on 26th September 2023. The Guest Speaker was Mr. Vaibhav Agarwal, a notable Alumnus of our college. He is an accomplished Senior Defence Journalist and Deputy Editor recognized for his expertise in multimedia journalism. The event aimed to provide current students and fellow alumni with valuable insights into the world of media, diplomacy, and the broader skill set needed for success in leadership roles.The talk emphasized the importance of diplomacy in the media industry, highlighting how it plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion and fostering international relations. The speaker provided real-world examples of instances where diplomacy influenced media coverage and outcomes. The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, during which students and alumni. 35 students from First Year, Second Year and Third Year were a part of the informative session.

Alumnus Talk on "Financial Literacy"

The Alumni Association of NMFC organized a talk on “Financial Literacy”, exclusively for final-year and postgraduate students on Saturday, 16th September, 2023. The talk was given by our alumni from the BScIT department Mr. Suraj Tiwari (Director- SQGS LLPAuthorised partner of Motilal OswalFinancial Services Ltd).The main objective of this session was to educate the final year students on basic techniques of investments to learn stock market, mutual funds, trading and use them in the corporate world for better returns. Almost 104 students participated in the session and benefited from the knowledge of our alumni.

Crack the Nut Competition

The Department of BMS with the support of an Alumnus of the Department, Mr Aaditya Vijay (graduated in batch 2022-23) organised a case study competition titled "Crack the Nut" on Monday, 9th October 2023 at 10 a.m. in Block No. 503. The aim of the competition was to enhance the analytical and design skills of students. Mr. Vijay judged the event. The case studies presented were related to general management, providing an opportunity for participants to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios. A total of 35 students benefited from the competition. 

Open Mic Competition

Our Alumni Mr. Vaibhav Agrawal was invited as a judge for the Open Mic Competition titled "Loquitur'' organised by The English Literary Association of our college. Mr. Vaibhav Agrawal is currently working as a Senior Defense Journalist and Deputy editor. "Loquitur'' aimed to promote free thought, information, speech and expression by providing students with a platform to share their perspectives and ideas. Participants were able to showcase their talents through spoken word and other creative forms in a supportive and safe environment that encouraged connection and community. Events like "Loquitur'' play an important role in allowing youngsters to share their opinions on various trending topics. Mr. Vaibhav’s judgement provided valuable mentorship and support to the current students.
 

Alumnus Talk on Cloud and Automation for TYIT Students

The Department of B.Sc. I.T/C.S. organized a webinar on Friday, 15th September 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., focusing on the topic "Cloud and Automation" for third-year students of B.Sc. I.T. Mr. Ram Pratap Yadav, an alumnus of our college, served as the resource person for the webinar. He is currently working with Morgan Stanley as a Senior Manager in Cloud Technologies. Mr. Yadav's insightful presentation provided students with a valuable understanding of current cloud technologies and automation trends. The session was engaging and informative, and the students appreciated the opportunity to learn about these evolving fields. Overall, it was a beneficial session that enhanced the student's knowledge and awareness. A total of 36 students benefited from the webinar.
 

Alumni Expressions

“Embracing our roots and celebrating tradition today!”
The Annual Traditional Day celebration organized by the Cultural Committee at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College this year witnessed a remarkable and nostalgic musical performance by a group of talented alumni. The event, which took place in the college auditorium, on 15th September 2023 was a trip down memory lane for both current students and former attendees, as the alumni band transported everyone through time with their impressive musical skills.The alumni band, comprised of several former students who had excelled in music during their time at the institution, took the stage with a mixture of anticipation and excitement. The alumni band's performance on Traditional Day was a resounding success, bridging the gap between past and present students and providing a memorable experience for all. It reinforced the notion that education extends far beyond textbooks and exams and that the bonds formed during school days can lead to beautiful collaborations. The event will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the highlights of this year's Traditional Day 

Alumni Contribution Enhances Campus Aesthetics with Wall Clocks

The spirit of giving back and creating a lasting impact on our college is a hallmark of our alumni community. Recently, our esteemed alumni made a thoughtful and practical contribution that has enhanced the aesthetics and functionality of our campus. A generous donation of wall clocks by our alumni has beautified our classrooms and common areas and reinforced the sense of unity and connection among our students and faculty. The Alumni Association of our college organized an Alumni donation drive to enhance the quality of service delivery of the college and to foster alumni engagement in college activities on Saturday, 7th October 2023 in the auditorium. Many alumni participated and contributed to the donation drive. The college received almost 21 watches donated by alumni (Gandhali Abhyankar, CA Vivek Dangi, Chaudhary Dinesh. Usmani Hamza, Vinod Kambli, Armaan Virani, Satyaeer and Hinesh). It was a great experience and a proud moment for the college and alumni as well.
 

Academics vs Action Needed

The Alumni Association of the college organized a seminar titled Academics vs Action Needed: Bridging the Gap between Studies and Industry Reality on Wednesday, 29 th January, 2025 at 11.00 a.m. at the mini-auditorium. Mr. Vaibhav Agrawal, an alumnus of our institution from BAMMC program, graduated with flying colours and great co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements in the year 2022, was the expert speaker. Currently designated as the Chief Executive of Operations and Business Strategy at Business Upturn, he is also a senior Defence Journalist and Editor with several years of experience in strategic communication, is also pursuing LLB and also has a slew of other achievements to his credit. The highly engaging, enlightening and elevating seminar shattered several myths and depicted realistically the landscape of academics, job scenario and the transition of learners from classroom to organisational set-up today. Mr. Agrawal gave real time insights into the thinking process and hurdles that tend to hold young minds back with delightful practical examples that opened up students’ minds. He gave real-time tips on how certain established notions have lost their relevance in today’s age and how youngsters can excel and carve a niche for themselves. 47 students present in the seminar listened in rapt attention and noted the key guidelines they know will benefit them tremendously. They interacted with the expert, posed queries and gained valuable knowledge by the end of the session.

Experience Unpacked: Insights from Alumni

Department of B.Sc.CS had organized an alumni session on the topic "Experience Unpacked: Insights from Alumni” via Google meet for third-year students of Computer Science on Saturday, 28th September, 2024 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The session featured the Alumni Lokesh Bharti, a successful Full Stack Developer based in Toronto, Canada. Lokesh's Journey: Lokesh shared his inspiring journey from being a student to working in a leading tech firm in Toronto. He emphasized the value of internships and practical experience.Technology Trends: He discussed current trends in web development, including popular frameworks and programming languages that students should focus on. Skill Recommendations: Lokesh highlighted essential skills such as JavaScript, React, Node.js, and database management. He encouraged students to engage in personal projects to build a strong portfolio.Networking Tips: The importance of networking and building professional relationships was underscored, along with suggestions for platforms like LinkedIn.The session saw active participation from students, with many questions related to job searching, internships, and work-life balance in the tech industry.Lokesh provided thoughtful responses and shared personal anecdotes, making the session interactive and relatable.The alumni session was a success, with positive feedback from participants. Students expressed appreciation for the insights shared by Lokesh and found the session highly informative. It served as an excellent platform for bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.

Outdoor Management Training Programmed

The Department of B. Com (MS) & B. Com (A&F) in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college had organized a one-day “Outdoor Management Training Programmed” on Thursday, 19th December, 2024 at Sanjay Gandhi National Park for the students for First Year B. Com (MS) & SYBAFMr. Nikhil Velari, a renowned corporate trainer and an alumnus of the BMS Department of the college (graduated in the year 2016-17) was the trainer. He is known for conducting  leadership building programmes and has trained thousands of young learners.The session consisted of various activities and fun games based on Principles of Management. This form of experiential learning in outdoor settings, helped participants cultivate stronger interpersonal relationships, fostered trust and developed a deeper understanding of teamwork dynamics. It encouraged adaptability, resilience and effective communication resulting in better collaboration and decision-making. A total of 72 students benefited from the programme.
 

A Talk on Being Industry Ready

Nirmala College hosted a guest lecture titled "A Talk on Being Industry Ready" specifically designed for B.com (Management Studies) and BAF (Bachelor of Accounting and Finance) students. This seminar, held on Thursday, July 11th, 2024, at 10:30 AM, aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in today's competitive job market.Mr. Pinanshu Champaneri, an industry professional and an alumnus with extensive experience as a Senior Executive in Human Resource and Employee Engagement, was invited for a Guest Lecture. The Mr. Champaneri devolved into the key aspects of being industry-ready, including: Essential skills sought after by employers in the BMS and BAF fields. Strategies for building a strong resume and cover letter. Effective interview techniques and preparation tips. Adapting academic knowledge to practical industry applications. The evolving job landscape and emerging trends in the BMS and BAF sectors. An interactive question-and-answer session facilitated the students to clarify doubts and gain further insights from the speaker's expertise.Conclusion: This seminar on "A Talk on Being Industry Ready" empowers BMS and BAF students at Nirmala College by equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate the transition from academics to a successful professional career. By understanding industry expectations and developing relevant skills, students will be well-positioned to make a strong impression on potential employers and achieve their career aspirations.This guest lecture was attended by approximately 68 students from BMS and BAF. Mr. Pinanshu, an alumnus of our college delivered a talk to the students regarding how to be industry-ready. He shared his experiences regarding how candidates usually face interviews and equipped the students with ideas and attitudes of presenting themselves for any interview. He also explained how the students should prepare and groom themselves as per the current needs of the industry. In the one-hour talk delivered by Mr. Shah, he ensured that the current trends and needs of the sector updated the students. He also guided them about how to choose the correct job profile to make the best of their potential.
 

Case Study Analysis Competition

To enhance students' analytical and problem-solving skills, the Department of BMS organized a case study analysis competition titled "Decode & Deliver: The Case Quest" on Wednesday, 22nd January 2025, at 11:30 a.m. in Block No. 506.The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 34 students, who showcased their analytical expertise and innovative solutions while tackling complex case studies. The competition was judged by Ms. Rupali Ekbote, an esteemed alumnus of the BMS Department, Batch of 2019-20.At the conclusion of the event, E-Certificates were awarded to all participants, recognizing their efforts. The winners were honored with medals and certificates for their outstanding performances:
1st Position (Gold Medal): Mr. Melwin Saji (FYBAF)
2nd Position (Silver Medal): Mr. Gautam Chauhan (SYBMS)
3rd Position (Bronze Medal): Ms. Simran Qureshi (SYBAF)

The event successfully provided a platform for students to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world business scenarios, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence.
 

Alumnus Talk - How, When and Where to Invest

The Department of Commerce at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College organized a seminar on the topic "How, When, and Where to Invest" on July 11, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. The seminar took place in Block No. 606 and was specifically for B.Com students. Mr. Anil Poste, Alumnus of the college was the speaker for the session. The seminar was very informative and insightful, and it will definitely help the students make decisions about various areas of investment at an early stage. A total of 64 students attended the seminar and benefited from the session.
 

Alumnus Talk

The Department of BAMMC organised an Alumnus Talk session titled ‘Storytelling in Documentaries: Crafting Compelling Narratives’The Guest Speaker was Mr. Vatsal Nathvani, a notable Alumnus of our college. He is a Director and Writer of feature documentary films like Gandhi: The Untold Story, Doctor in Me and many more. He is also a Chief Editor of India’s vegan magazine ‘Compassion India: Health Transformations Resources’The seminar brought together filmmakers, scholars, and enthusiasts to delve into the art and science of documentary storytelling. The talk concluded with an open forum where attendees could ask questions and share their experiences. Attendees praised the seminar for its comprehensive coverage and interactive sessions. The event provided valuable insights and practical knowledge, inspiring participants to continue exploring the art of documentary storytelling.57 students from First Year, Second Year and Third Year were a part of the informative session.Outcome: Attendees left with a deeper understanding of the essential skills and strategies needed to excel in these fields and a sense of inspiration from Mr. Vatsal Nathvani’s remarkable journey.
