recommendation letters, and application deadlines. Information was provided Ms. Vashi

The resource person for the seminar was Dr. Y Srinivasa Rao, Ph.D (ES-IIT-Bombay), Vice-Principal and Dean (R&D), Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sardar Patel Institute of Technology.
Dr. Y Srinivasa Rao was welcomed by Ms. Vaishali Mishra, Coordinator of B.Sc. IT and Vice-Principal Dr. Poonam Kakkad felicitated Dr. Rao. Dr. Poonam Kakkad also shared a few words to explain the importance of the seminar and encouraged students to gain the maximum benefit out of it.

Department of B.Sc IT/CS had organized an industrial visit to WOL3D , Mumbai for the students of SY. B.Sc. IT and CS . A group of 47 students, led by Ms. Hiral Parakhiya and Ms. Aprna Jadhav, visited the WOL3D for an educational industry tour on March 6, 2024.

Department of BScIT and CS had organised a two day workshop on the 28th and 29th of February 2024 for the first-year students on the topic “Robotics and IoT”.Mrs Pooam Gawade,the owner of Tantraniketan was the resource person for the workshop.The workshop was commenced in the Computer Lab No. 1, 3rd Floor. The workshop aimed to provide participants with hands-on experience in building and programming robots and IoT prototypes. The focus was on practical applications, with three key topics covered: SMART Automation System using Digital Distance Sensors, SMART Irrigation System, and Automatic Color Segregation Machine using Arduino and Color Sensors.
The "Robotics and IoT" workshop not only equipped first-year students with practical skills but also inspired creativity and innovation. The event showcased the potential of applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, fostering a passion for Robotics and IoT within the BScIT and CS department.Total 27 students had participated in the workshop.
Department of B.Sc.I.T/C.S had organized the “IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial Software Training Program” Examination on Tuesday,20th February,2024 for the students of B.Sc.I.T. and C.S.
The IIT Spoken Tutorial program is an initiative by the Indian Institutes of Technology to provide free, online, and easy-to-learn tutorials in various subjects, including programming languages, software tools, and other essential skills. Nirmala Memorial Foundation, Kandivali East, actively participated in this program, and the examination was a culmination of the participants' efforts in mastering these skills.
The examination consisted of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and practical assignments that assessed the participants' understanding of the topics covered in the Spoken Tutorial program.

About Technotsav
Technotsav aims to provide a platform for the students of UG and PG courses to showcase their technical prowess, talent, and enthusiasm. The activities culminate in a grand one-day fest on the campus of NMFC. It includes various events viz. Battle of Games, Steganography (Treasure Hunt), Skit of Cyber Awareness, Web Designing, Cyber War, Math Enigma, Modelling Voyage, Blind Scripting and Reelotech(Reel Making).
The Management members of the Institute illuminated the event with their gracious presence during the inaugural ceremony. I/C Principal Ms. Swiddle D’Cunha and Vice Principal Dr. Poonam Kakkad rendered great support and guidance to organise and execute Technotsav 2023-24.
Ms. Sylvia Fernandes, Honourable Academic Director of NMFC guided and mentored all of us to take this event from the national to the international level.
Ms. Vandana Singh, Convener and Ms. Aparna Jadav, Co-Convener of Technotsav took the initiative to plan and organise nine tech-based competitions in the fest, which were conducted smoothly with good responses.
More than 500 participants from 79 colleges registered for Technotsav 2023-24 from various states such as Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, etc. We received registration from Canada as well making technotsav to reach to the International level.
The event was entirely managed and executed by a Core Committee of students including 84 volunteers helped by teaching and non-teaching staff of Junior and Degree sections.

Dr. Kannan M. Moudgalya is a professor of chemical engineering, systems and control, and educational technology at IIT Bombay. He has held the posts of associate dean (R&D), head of Application Software Cell and head of the Centre for Distance Engineering Education Programme, at IIT Bombay.
Mascot: A Symbol of Innovation and Creativity
Students of the department designed and developed the innovative and intelligent mascot model on their own for the Technotsav which was revealed during the inaugural ceremony by the dignitaries present.
The mascot model was built and designed with various electronic components such as Servo motors, Raspberry Pi, LDR, CRT, Amplifier, 3D Printer Technologies and built-in Alexa of Amazon etc.
The efforts of mascot designer Mr. Pavan Arun Bagwe and his team were well appreciated by the dignitaries for designing such a smart and innovative technical bot.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) - Achieved Successfully
Every year under the banner of Technotsav, The department of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS conduct the CSR Activity for the people of society. This year our Nirmalites have conducted the Cyber Awareness Sessions at various places for the citizens of our country to make them aware of the Cyber Crimes and its root causes. They have portrayed an act to explain the various scenarios of cybercrimes and their remedies.
The seminar on "Cyber Security - Future beyond Firewall" for SYBSc.IT students was conducted on Saturday, 20-1-2024. The seminar aimed to provide insights into advanced cyber security measures beyond traditional firewall strategies. The session covered topics including network security, threat intelligence, data encryption, and emerging technologies in the field of cyber security. The event was well-received by the participants who found the information valuable for their academic and professional pursuits in the field of IT and cyber security.Ms.Prachi Samant,TrainingManager,Netmonastry,Cyber Security Product Firm was the resource person for the seminar.Ms. Prachi captivated the audience explaining the latest security measures besides Firewall.The event saw a significant turnout with a total of 86 participants.

Department of B.Sc.IT and C.S had organized a session on "Know the Journey-A Interstate Student Exchange Program “ .This session took place on Thursday, 21st December 2023, at the main auditorium,NMFC. The primary goal of the session was to shed light on the journey of students participating in the Interstate Student Exchange Program to Andhra Loyola Institute of Engineering and Technology , Vijayawada, emphasizing the transformative impact on their personal and academic lives. A diverse group of participants, including students , faculty members, and program coordinators were the part of the student exchange program held from 26th October 2023 to 28th October 2023 . Students shared heartfelt accounts of their experiences, detailing the cultural immersion, academic growth, and personal development they underwent during the exchange program. The discussion delved into the challenges faced by students, including language barriers and adapting to new academic environments. Strategies and support systems implemented to address these challenges were also explored. Participants had the chance to network with each other, fostering a sense of community and collaboration among those interested in or involved with student exchange programs. Each member of the team created a positive enthusiasm by elaborating their experiences in front of the whole crowd. Total 213 students were present in the program.
The seminar on "ChatGPT using Advanced Excel" held on Friday, 15th December 2023, from 12:15 pm to 01:15 pm, was a highly anticipated event for second-year students pursuing their Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and Computer Science.. The session aimed to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and practical applications in data analysis using Advanced Excel.Mr. Sajid Shaikh, an accomplished IT professional from Aptech Solution, Mumbai, served as the distinguished resource person for the seminar. With his extensive experience in the industry, Mr. Shaikh brought a wealth of knowledge to the session, making it an enriching experience for the participants. The seminar encouraged active participation from the students, fostering a dynamic learning environment. Questions and queries were addressed by Mr. Sajid Shaikh, enhancing the overall learning experience. The combination of theoretical concepts and practical demonstrations by Mr. Sajid Shaikh ensured that participants left with a deeper understanding of how ChatGPT and Advanced Excel can be harnessed for data-driven insights. - The students presented nearly 40 papers, earning them the best paper awards.
- A visit to the Thermal Power Station provided valuable insights into industrial processes.
- Students were also taken to various local places, enhancing their cultural exposure.

- The day began with a deep learning session conducted by the Department of CSE, featuring Dr. Vasavi from V.R Siddhartha.
- An interactive session on "The Role of Women in Society" was held by the SAFE team of Vijayawada.

Mr. Ram Pratap Yadav, an alumnus of our college, served as the resource person for the webinar. He is currently working with Morgan Stanley as a Senior Manager in Cloud Technologies. Mr. Yadav's insightful presentation provided students with a valuable understanding of current cloud technologies and automation trends. The session was engaging and informative, and the students appreciated the opportunity to learn about these evolving fields. Overall, it was a beneficial session that enhanced the students' knowledge and awareness. A total of 36 students benefited from the webinar.
The Department of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS has taken the initiative to make an awareness regarding growth in Cybercrimes in the digital era, so considering this objective an MoU is signed with Quick Heal Foundation where college students belonging from IT and CS departments are trained to train others. Selected students will create awareness in society about dangers of cybercrime and ways to protect oneself while navigating on the digital platforms. Under this initiative Quick Heal Foundation conducted a Cyber Training Program which was held on Monday, 28th August, 2023 by Quick Heal Foundation in Association with Maharashtra Cyber Crime.

IT and B.Sc.C.S. on the topic “Robotics and IOT” .Mr.Rahul Gupta, Founder of Passion 3D World was the resource person for the workshop.Students learned four different projects in these Three days workshop.It was a 12 hours workshop from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm in lab no 5,3rd floor.Mr.Rahul explained the basic concepts of Robotics and IoT in a very simple language. The workshop was focused on how to make “Light following Robot”,”Voice controlled Robot”,”Home automation System” and “IoT weather monitoring system using Blynk”. The Department of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS had organized a Bridge Course for the First Year Learners of B.Sc. IT, those who have completed their Higher Education from Commerce Stream.This Course was conducted on the subject "Digital Logic and Application" from 17th July to 27th July 2023.The objective was to develop the understanding of basic computer fundamentals and to bridge the technological gap. Students had hands-on experience on the basic components of Electronics like gates,LED, Bread Board and the connection part. Students enjoyed the session thoroughly and the response was quite good.Total 56 students attended the session.
irmala Memorial Foundaion College of Commerce and Science, Kandivali (East), Mumbai,Department of BSc.IT and BSc.CS organized One Day Industrial Visit to “Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT)” on Friday,14th July,2023 from 2pm to 5pm at Narayangaon, Pune, Maharashtra, India. Astronomers from all over the world regularly use this telescope to observe many different astronomical objects such as HII regions, galaxies, pulsars, supernovae and Sun and solar winds. Around 69 students and 2 faculty members visited the satellite station. It was great learning experience for the students.

CS.The Career Guidance Seminar was conducted by versatile personality, Mr. Wilson Pinto, Head, Training and Placement Cell, St. Francis Institute of Technology.Mr. Wilson Pinto is an experienced academic professional with a thorough knowledge of Training & Placement and he demonstrated history of setting up Industry Institute Interaction Cell at Engineering Colleges like SNDT Women's University, Don Bosco and Pillai Group. He has more than two decades of experience in teaching at Engineering and Management schools with additional expertise in academic administration. Presently sir is working on research in the field of Social Entrepreneurship for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) study from Tata Institute of Social Sciences University.Total 107 students were present in the seminar.

CS had organized a Seminar on Saturday, 8th July, 2023 from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm in Room No.606, 6th Floor on the Topic “Career Opportunities in 3D Animation” for the Third Year Students of B.Sc. IT. The speaker,Mr. Naresh Choudhary highlighted some of his own animations which were very creative.Then he discussed the career opportunities of 3D animation in India, packages, Career growth etc which really fascinated students.Total 63 students took the advantage of this beautiful session.

CS had organized a Seminar on Saturday, 8th July, 2023 from 12:00 noon - 1:30 pm in Room No.606, 6th Floor on the topic “Robotics and Its Application for making a Light following Robot” for the Third Year Students of B.Sc. IT. The resource person Mr.RohanKumar Bukane started the session with a powerpoint presentation to explain various hardware components used for making the robot.He demonstrated two functional Robots to the students during the session.This session was very live, interactive, and informative with maximum involvement of students. Department of B.Sc.I.T/C.S had organized the “IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial Software Training Program” Examination on 24th June 2022 for the students of S.Y.B.Sc.I.T./C.S. and T.Y. B.Sc. I.T./C.S. Spoken Tutorial is an initiative of MHRD, Govt. of India and a part of National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), developed at IIT-Bombay. This is a platform where students can learn and master various programming languages and software without any prerequisites. All tutorials are in the form of Audio-Video content with self-learning methodology and are also available in various regional languages. We are associated with IIT spoken tutorial since 2018.Every year a large number of students enrol for this certification course and pass the examinations in different subjects with excellent performance and score. poken tutorial examination was conducted offline in the computer lab of the college. After scoring 40% in the examination of a particular course, the successful students were awarded with Certificates at the end of the examination by IIT Spoken tutorial in association with Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce &Science Kandivali (East).

Department of B.Sc.I.T/C.S had organized the “IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial Software Training Program” Examination on Saturday,3rd December 2022 for the students of B.Sc.I.T. and C.S from 2:30 pm to 3:30pm in 3rd floor Computer Lab.The courses were FYIT-C and CPP,FYCS-Python,TYIT- PHP and MySQL respectively.Total 81 students had participated in the examination.
The Department of BAMMC had taken the initiative to send the students for volunteering for the Kala Ghoda Arts festival. The Kala Ghoda Arts festival is an annual festival which lasts for nine days, and it is located in the area of South Mumbai. This year this festival took place from 4th February to 12th February 2023. Our students showcased their talents by participating in various activities over there.
From 6th February, 2023 to 8th February,2023, the Department of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS had organized the remedial lectures for the first year students of IT on the subjects CLDS and FDBMS respectively.This session was made for those who had backlogs in the above said subjects. The sessions were taken by Prof. George and Prof. Jyoti Choudhary respectively.Total students attended for CLDS - 31 and FDMS- 31 respectively.

The Department IT and CS had arranged a visit to Wet n Joy, Lonavla for the students of on 11th January, 2022.
Wet `n` Joy is a fun-filled water park with a variety of exciting rides and attractions. Nestled in the lush Western Ghats, Wet n Joy is a popular destination. Students enjoyed a lot in the water park experiencing the fun filled water slides, wave pool, crazy river and entertaining rain dance. The enjoyment was followed by a lavish meal. Total 57 students visited the Water park.
On Tuesday, 21th December, 2022 the Department of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS had organised a Seminar on “Preparation for MCA(NIT) Entrance Exam” for students of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS. Mr Meena Surandra Suman, Alumnus of our college was the Guest Speaker. 22 Students attended the seminar and benefited from it. He focused on the syllabus , Personal time table , duration of study and the systematic planning for getting a good rank in the entrance examination.The program was conducted from 10:15 am - 11:15 am in Room No. 606, 6th Floor.
On Saturday, 10th December, 2022 the Department of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS had organized a Seminar on “Cyber Security Awareness” for the students of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS. This program was conducted by Maharashtra Cyber cell in association with Quick Heal Foundation.Speaker started the session by sharing basic information about cyber security and the basic terminologies associated with it. The introductory part was very informative to kick start the cyber security session. 120 Students attended the seminar and benefited from it. The program was organised from 09:00 am - 09:45 am in Room No. 311, 3rd Floor.
On Tuesday, 6th December, 2022 the Department of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS had organized a Seminar on topic “Tips and Tricks to Crack the Interview” for students of S.Y.B.Sc.IT and T.Y.B.Sc.IT.Ms Subhrasmita Praharaj,SDET Senior Associate Publicis Sapient was the Guest Speaker. 65 Students attended the seminar and benefited from it.

The program was conducted in the mini Auditorium of the college from11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The session was conducted on how to fill the OMR sheet in the answer booklet of the TY students for their Semester 5 University Examination .The Session was quite beneficial for the students. Industrial visit was carried out at MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd.) CETTM, Powai, Mumbai on Saturday , 20th August, 2022. The goal of the industrial visit was to achieve better understanding and practical exposure of Mobile Communications Systems. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) is a state-owned telecommunications service provider in the metro cities of Mumbai. MTNL provides fixed line telephones, cellular connection, internetservices through dialup and Broadband internet-TriBand.Total of 37 students were part of this industrial visit. Everyone gathered at the entrance gate of the college including faculty members Prof.Hiral Parakhiya and Prof. Tanvi More. We left the college premises at 8:30 a.m. We were further assisted by MTNL Staff at MTNL.All the students were seated in the presentation room, where the Senior Manager had an introductory talk with all the students about working for MTNL.Then we were taught about the GSM(Global System for Mobile communication), types of antennas and their applications. After this all the students were taken to a lab for showcasing an In building solution for network connectivity .Second lecture was taken in a round table conference room where we were taught about Optical fiber cable, broadband connectivity and switching. After the lecture everyone was taken to the switching unit and broadband unit where actual working of these units were shown.We took almost 6 hours to see various units at MTNL CETTM which was followed by questions/feedback from students. We appreciate staff members who guided students with each and every question with detailed answers.We would like to extend our gratitude to the company for the permission and support they gave to make our visit a success with accomplishment of objective and our Faculty members for arranging this visit for students.

The Department of B.Sc.IT/CS organized a seminar on "Career Counselling for Government Jobs" with the aim of enlightening students about the vast scope of employment opportunities in the public sector. The session proved to be highly interactive, with students actively engaging in the discussions. Mr. Rahul Yerukula, a distinguished UPSC senior expert counsellor from IBPO, conducted the seminar on July 15, 2022. The event saw participation from a total of 511 students across all programs.The speaker visited each class, providing valuable insights and guidance to the attendees. The seminar was instrumental in broadening students' understanding of potential career paths in the government sector, and Mr. Rahul Yerukula's expertise added significant value to the event.
