Spoken Tutorial is an initiative of MHRD, Govt. of India and a part of National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), developed at IIT-Bombay. Spoken tutorial examination was conducted offline in the computer lab of the college. After scoring 40% in the examination of a particular course, the successful students were awarded with Certificates at the end of the examination by IIT Spoken tutorial in association with Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce &Science Kandivali (East).

The Department of B.Sc.IT/CS organized a seminar on "Career Counselling for Government Jobs" with the aim of enlightening students about the vast scope of employment opportunities in the public sector. The session proved to be highly interactive, with students actively engaging in the discussions. Mr. Rahul Yerukula, a distinguished UPSC senior expert counsellor from IBPO, conducted the seminar on July 15, 2022. The event saw participation from a total of 511 students across all programs.The speaker visited each class, providing valuable insights and guidance to the attendees. The seminar was instrumental in broadening students' understanding of potential career paths in the government sector, and Mr. Rahul Yerukula's expertise added significant value to the event.

The Department IT and CS had arranged a visit to Wet n Joy, Lonavla for the students of on 11th January, 2022. Wet n Joy is a fun-filled water park with a variety of exciting rides and attractions. Nestled in the lush Western Ghats, Wet n Joy is a popular destination. Students enjoyed a lot in the water park experiencing the fun filled water slides, wave pool, crazy river and entertaining rain dance. The enjoyment was followed by a lavish meal.Total 57 students visited the Water park.
What a great event it was! The department of Information Technology and computer science of our college had organised a grand inter collegiate event TECHNOTSAV 2023 on 30th January 2023 in which more than 35 colleges took an active participation in various performances. Coding Ninja, Junk Yard, Treasure Hunt, Maths Puzzle, IT Quiz (Kahoot), Game Zone, Model making and Reel making were the various fields for students to participate.There were grand Inaugural and Valedictory ceremonies held and graced by our college management and dignitaries. He has more than two decades of experience in teaching at Engineering and Management schools with additional expertise in academic administration. Presently he is working on research in the field of Social Entrepreneurship for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) study from Tata Institute of Social Sciences University.Total 107 students took the benefit of Career Guidance Seminar.

CS has taken the initiative to make an awareness regarding growth in Cybercrimes in the digital era, so considering this objective an MoU is signed with Quick Heal Foundation where college students belonging from IT and CS departments are trained to train others. Selected students will create awareness in society about dangers of cybercrime and ways to protect oneself while navigating on the digital platforms. Under this initiative Quick Heal Foundation conducted a Cyber Training Program which was held on Monday, 28th August, 2023 by Quick Heal Foundation in Association with Maharashtra Cyber Crime.

Shri A. Md. Imtiaz, IAS, delivered an inspiring speech, followed by a session on deep learning by Dr. S. Vasavi.
Director, Fr. Dr. B. Joji Reddy also gave a phenomenal speech.
Participants had the chance to experience Andhra culture and enjoy a delicious lunch.
An engaging drone workshop showcased ALIET's commitment to technological advancement.
A visit to a local temple provided insights into the region's cultural and spiritual aspects.

Day 2:
A National Conference on Contemporary Challenges in Emerging Technologies was inaugurated by ALIET's management and faculty. Mr. Vishal and Mr. Kaustubh Aaras has secured first prize for their best paper presentation. Ms. Sandhya Diwedi has secured second position in the best paper presentation.
The students presented nearly 40 papers, earning them the best paper awards.
A visit to the Thermal Power Station provided valuable insights into industrial processes.
Students were also taken to various local places, enhancing their cultural exposure.
Day 3:
The day began with a deep learning session conducted by the Department of CSE, featuring Dr. Vasavi from V.R Siddhartha.
An interactive session on "The Role of Women in Society" was held by the SAFE team of Vijayawada.
Prof. K RamMohan Rao, Vice-Chairman of APSCHE, delivered an inspirational speech emphasizing the importance of education and values.
Best paper awards were distributed to students from both ALIET and NMFC.
The day concluded with a visit to the Bird Sanctuary and Amaravathi region, along with a visit to Efftronics, which was a highlight for IT students.

The seminar on "ChatGPT using Advanced Excel" held on Friday, 15th December 2023, from 12:15 pm to 01:15 pm, was a highly anticipated event for second-year students pursuing their Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and Computer Science.. The session aimed to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and practical applications in data analysis using Advanced Excel.Mr. Sajid Shaikh, an accomplished IT professional from Aptech Solution, Mumbai, served as the distinguished resource person for the seminar. With his extensive experience in the industry, Mr. Shaikh brought a wealth of knowledge to the session, making it an enriching experience for the participants. The seminar encouraged active participation from the students, fostering a dynamic learning environment. Questions and queries were addressed by Mr. Sajid Shaikh, enhancing the overall learning experience. The combination of theoretical concepts and practical demonstrations by Mr. Sajid Shaikh ensured that participants left with a deeper understanding of how ChatGPT and Advanced Excel can be harnessed for data-driven insights. A total of 35 students benefited from the seminar.
Department of B.Sc.IT and C.S had organized a session on "Know the Journey-A Interstate Student Exchange Program “ .This session took place on Thursday, 21st December 2023, at the main auditorium,NMFC. The primary goal of the session was to shed light on the journey of students participating in the Interstate Student Exchange Program to Andhra Loyola Institute of Engineering and Technology , Vijayawada, emphasizing the transformative impact on their personal and academic lives. A diverse group of participants, including students , faculty members, and program coordinators were the part of the student exchange program held from 26th October 2023 to 28th October 2023. Students shared heartfelt accounts of their experiences, detailing the cultural immersion, academic growth, and personal development they underwent during the exchange program. The discussion delved into the challenges faced by students, including language barriers and adapting to new academic environments. Strategies and support systems implemented to address these challenges were also explored. Participants had the chance to network with each other, fostering a sense of community and collaboration among those interested in or involved with student exchange programs. Each member of the team created a positive enthusiasm by elaborating their experiences in front of the whole crowd. Total 213 students were present in the program.

About Technotsav
Technotsav aims to provide a platform for the students of UG and PG courses to showcase their technical prowess, talent, and enthusiasm. The activities culminate in a grand one-day fest on the campus of NMFC. It includes various events viz. Battle of Games, Steganography (Treasure Hunt), Skit of Cyber Awareness, Web Designing, Cyber War, Math Enigma, Modelling Voyage, Blind Scripting and Reelotech(Reel Making).The Management members of the Institute illuminated the event with their gracious presence during the inaugural ceremony. I/C Principal Ms. Swiddle D’Cunha and Vice Principal Dr. Poonam Kakkad rendered great support and guidance to organise and execute Technotsav 2023-24.Ms. Sylvia Fernandes, Honourable Academic Director of NMFC guided and mentored all of us to take this event from the national to the international level.Ms. Vandana Singh, Convener and Ms. Aparna Jadav, Co-Convener of Technotsav took the initiative to plan and organise nine tech-based competitions in the fest, which were conducted smoothly with good responses.More than 500 participants from 79 colleges registered for Technotsav 2023-24 from various states such as Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, etc. We received registration from Canada as well making technotsav to reach to the International level.The event was entirely managed and executed by a Core Committee of students including 84 volunteers helped by teaching and non-teaching staff of Junior and Degree sections.

Dr. Kannan M. Moudgalya is a professor of chemical engineering, systems and control, and educational technology at IIT Bombay. He has held the posts of associate dean (R&D), head of Application Software Cell and head of the Centre for Distance Engineering Education Programme, at IIT Bombay.
Mascot: A Symbol of Innovation and Creativity
Students of the department designed and developed the innovative and intelligent mascot model on their own for the Technotsav which was revealed during the inaugural ceremony by the dignitaries present.
The mascot model was built and designed with various electronic components such as Servo motors, Raspberry Pi, LDR, CRT, Amplifier, 3D Printer Technologies and built-in Alexa of Amazon etc.
The efforts of mascot designer Mr. Pavan Arun Bagwe and his team were well appreciated by the dignitaries for designing such a smart and innovative technical bot.

Every year under the banner of Technotsav, The department of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS conduct the CSR Activity for the people of society. This year our Nirmalites have conducted the Cyber Awareness Sessions at various places for the citizens of our country to make them aware of the Cyber Crimes and its root causes. They have portrayed an act to explain the various scenarios of cybercrimes and their remedies.
The Department of B.Sc. IT and B.Sc. CS organised a “Prompt Engineering” Seminar on Friday, 28th June, 2024 from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm in the 706 - Seminar Hall.
The resource person for the seminar was Dr. Y Srinivasa Rao, Ph.D (ES-IIT-Bombay), Vice-Principal and Dean (R&D), Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sardar Patel Institute of Technology.
Dr. Y Srinivasa Rao was welcomed by Ms. Vaishali Mishra, Coordinator of B.Sc. IT and Vice-Principal Dr. Poonam Kakkad felicitated Dr. Rao. Dr. Poonam Kakkad also shared a few words to explain the importance of the seminar and encouraged students to gain the maximum benefit out of it.

An academic visit was organized for the Third Year Computer Science (TYCS)

The visit took place on 13th July 2024 at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Andheri (West)., involving 35 TYCS students and one faculty member: Prof. Ms. Aparna Jadav.
The primary objectives were to encourage innovation, offer practical experience, familiarize students with current technologies, demonstrate the application of theoretical concepts, facilitate professional interaction, and help refine hardware project ideas. The itinerary included a warm welcome, a company overview presentation, a facility tour of research and development labs, an interactive session with industry experts, a hands-on workshop, and a concluding session with feedback collection. The visit provided valuable insights into innovation and its application in hardware engineering. Students appreciated the hands-on experience, the interaction with experienced innovators, and the guidance on developing their projects. Exposure to cutting-edge technologies and industry success stories inspired them to pursue innovative projects. Faculty observed a significant boost in student's enthusiasm and understanding of course concepts.

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science organized the IIT Spoken Tutorial Certification Examination on Friday, 4th October and Monday, 7th October, 2024, in the computer labs located on the 3rd floor of the college premises. This examination was conducted for the students of Computer Science. This examination aimed to assess students’ understanding and application of key concepts in various technical subjects, enhancing their practical skills and communication abilities through spoken tutorials.
The examination process began on September 20, 2024, with the successful registration of students in different subjects. Video links for the respective subjects were circulated among students via WhatsApp groups. Students were encouraged to study the video materials and complete assignments related to their courses. The IIT Spoken Tutorial Certification Examination took 30 hours to study the videos, complete the assignments, and prepare for the examination.
Examination Structure
Successful candidates were issued course completion certificates by the IIT Spoken Tutorial immediately after the examination. Faculty member Vandana Singh supervised the examination to ensure adherence to academic integrity and provide assistance as needed.

With participation from over 670 students representing 60 colleges across the mumbai, also including institutions from Bhopal and Pune, the fest witnessed intense competition and outstanding performances. The winners were honored with trophies, cash prizes, and certificates, while all participants received e-certificates as a token of appreciation for their efforts.
A significant highlight of the event was the launch of the department newsletter under the Tech Club, ‘ASCII-Volume I Issue I’, marking a new initiative to promote technological awareness, showcase student achievements, and keep everyone updated on the latest innovations.
Adding to the excitement, Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Engineering from pune won the prestigious Best College Award, recognizing their outstanding overall performance in multiple events.

The IIT Techfest 2024 was held from 17th to 19th December 2024 in IIt Powai Campus, with a series of innovative and competitive events designed to challenge the participants’ skills in various domains of science, technology, and engineering. Among the events conducted, one of the prominent ones was CosmoClenze, which aimed at testing participants' abilities in problem-solving, teamwork, and their overall technical knowledge. This event consisted of five distinct stages, each designed to test the participants in different technical and problem-solving areas, under time constraints. Under the guidance of Dr. Aparna Panigrahy, the in-charge professor, all 7 students from our college participated and successfully cleared all five stages of the event within the given time frame.
The participation in CosmoClenze at IIT Techfest 2024 has been a significant achievement for the students of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science. By clearing all stages within the specified time, the team has proven their competence and ability to perform under pressure. On Friday, 7th February 2025, the Department of B.Sc. CS and B.Sc.IT hosted a Tech Talk (TechIgnite 0.1) by Dr. Palvi Aggarwal, Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at El Paso. The session, titled "Evidence of Cognitive Biases in Cyber Attackers from an Empirical Study," explored how cognitive biases affect cyber attackers' decision-making. Dr. Aggarwal highlighted biases like confirmation bias, overconfidence, and anchoring bias, explaining how these influence attackers' choices and strategies. The talk emphasized the importance of understanding human psychology in cybersecurity to improve defense strategies and anticipate attack patterns, offering valuable insights for students.
The event saw an enthusiastic participation of 250 attendees, engaging with the content and gaining valuable knowledge to apply in the field of cybersecurity.
The 5 days National Level Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was held from 11th to 15th February 2025 on the topic "Enhancing Quality Research through Patent Writing and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)", aimed at equipping faculty members with essential knowledge and skills in patenting and IPR. The program aimed to emphasize the importance of intellectual property in research and foster a culture of innovation within academic institutions. It was organized by Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science, Maharashtra in collaboration with Loyola Academy(Autonomous), Telangana. It was conducted online on MS Teams at NMFC Kandivali (E), by the department of BSc CS.
The FDP included expert sessions on key topics such as the fundamentals of IPR, the patent filing process, writing effective patent applications, and conducting patent searches. In addition, hands-on workshops provided participants with practical experience in patent drafting.
Participants, representing diverse academic disciplines, engaged in discussions on how to enhance the quality and impact of research through patents, as well as the potential commercialization of their innovations. The program successfully fostered an understanding of the legal and strategic significance of IPR in research, while providing valuable insights into the practicalities of patent writing.
The feedback from participants highlighted the program’s value in enhancing their research capabilities and increasing awareness of the commercial potential of their work. Overall, the FDP was a significant step towards strengthening the link between research, innovation, and intellectual property rights in academia.

The Department of B.Sc.CS successfully conducted a 4-day workshop on "Data Structures Using Java" from 17th to 24th February 2025, totaling 30 hours. The workshop was divided into two formats: online on 17th & 18th February and offline on20th, 22nd & 24th February, held in Computer Lab-1. The sessions were led by Ms. Karra Neeharika and Ms. Nancy Parasa(Assistant Professor in online mode, while Ms. Zahra Somjee and Mr. Nimesh Bumb (industry trainer) took charge of the offline sessions.This workshop was aimed to provide participants with an introduction to the Data Structure using Java, covering both theoretical concepts and hands-on experience.

Farewell function organized by the college on Tuesday, 4th March 2025 for TYBSc CS. The
farewell function was a grand success, with enthusiastic participation from all the registered
T.Y.BSc. CS students. The event allowed students to celebrate their academic journey,
creating lasting memories before they move on to new endeavors.
Students began arriving at the College Auditorium, where they completed their registration
process. This step ensured that only registered students could attend the function. The
entertainment segment featured a DJ dance, creating a fun and energetic environment.
Students enjoyed the lively beats and took the opportunity to dance and unwind before the
lunch. Following the DJ dance, a working lunch was served. Students had the opportunity to
enjoy a delicious meal while mingling and reminiscing about their college experiences.
The farewell function for T.Y.BSc. CS students on 4th March 2025 was a memorable event
with 76 students enjoyed, combining entertainment and camaraderie. It marked the end of
their college life and provided a fun-filled and meaningful closure to their academic journey.
The Degree Certificate Distribution Ceremony was successfully held on Saturday, 19th April 2025, in the college auditorium. A total of 267 students were registered for it. The auditorium was filled with proud graduates, faculty members, and staff, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.The ceremony was graced by the presence of management representative Mr. Ajit Desai, I/C Principal Dr. Swiddle D'Cunha, Vice Principal Dr. Poonam Kakkad, and program coordinators.The ceremony began with a warm welcome address by the Principal, who congratulated the graduates and reminded them of their responsibilities as ambassadors of the institution.Degree certificates were distributed program-wise, with efficient coordination by the designated program in-charges and faculty members. The ceremony concluded with group photographs and refreshments.Overall, it was a memorable and proud day for all the graduates and the institution.
