LeetCode Onboarding Session

The Department of B.Sc. Data Science organized a three-day LeetCode Onboarding session for First-Year B.Sc. DS students on 11th, 12th, and 14th July 2025. The session was conducted by Mr. Nimesh Bumb, an experienced software engineer and educator with a background at Amazon and American Express, and founder of Master Bridge Education.

To accommodate all students effectively, the training was conducted in two batches each day:

  • Batch B1: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Batch B2: 10:20 AM to 12:30 PM

The session aimed to introduce students to core data structures and programming concepts, while also familiarizing them with the LeetCode platform to begin solving coding problems. Key topics covered included Creating arrays and lists in Python, Understanding and implementing linked lists, Onboarding on LeetCode, setting up profiles, and solving beginner problems, Doubt-solving and error debugging during live problem-solving, Tips and techniques for writing efficient and readable code.

Mr. Bumb ensured the sessions were interactive and practical, encouraging active participation and addressing students’ questions in real-time. His industry insights and structured teaching style made complex concepts more approachable and engaging.

A total of 65 students benefited from the session, reflecting a high level of enthusiasm and interest among the participants.

Overall, the training served as an excellent foundational experience for students, enhancing their understanding of data structures and boosting their confidence in coding and problem-solving through platforms like LeetCode.
