Career guidance for MBA

The Department of Commerce, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College organised a seminar on Career Guidance for MBA on 18th July 2022 at 11:30 a.m.  The speakers for the session were Mr. Jash Mehta and Mr. Vivek Sarda. Speakers visited all the classes of  B.Com and shared the valuable insights. 
The seminar provided a comprehensive understanding of career opportunities in the MBA domain, enriching the knowledge base of the attendees. The session was very informative. More than 404 students attended the seminar.

 


 

Start Investing Early

Planning Forum and Department of Commerce, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College in association with Bombay Stock Exchange organised a seminar on 'Start Investing Early' on Tuesday 19th July 2022 at 12.00 noon in Block No. 705. The speaker for this session was Prof. Amogh Ghotoskar. The session was helpful for the students to understand various concepts reagarding investment. The seminar was attneded by approximately 110 students.

Corporate Training

Department of Commerce, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College organised a workshop on Corpoate Training on 4th August 2022 at 11:30 am in College Auditorium (Ground Floor). The workshop was conducted by Mr. Vivek Sarda (Director of Ideal Management). It helped the students to understand the various interview skills, CV building etc. The session was attended by 105 students.

Workshop on Personality Development

Department of Commerce, Nirmala Memorial Foundation organised a workshop on Personality Dvelopment on 10th August 2022 at 11:30 am in Block no. 606. The workshop was conducted by Prof. Gunjan Dhanjal (Corporate Trainer and Founder - YMFL Academy). The workshop helped the students to understand the various points on developing an individuals perosnality.  It was attended by 50 students.

Amul Dairy - Industrial Visit

Department of B.com took S.Y.B.com 50 students for Industrial visit to AMUL Dairy on 24th December 2022. It was aamazing visit where students took live experience of production of various sweets, Milk manufacturing and logistics.

Seminar on Soft Skills

Department of B.com Organized a Seminar on 16th December,2022 for F.Y.B.com Learners where in total 90 students participated in the seminar the speaker was Dr. Amruta Pawar she delivered an informative insight about soft- skills to develop learner’s personal attributes.

Educational visit to Mumbai Port

Department of B.com took T.Y.B.com (Export and Marketing) 50 students for an educational visit to Mumbai Port on 21st December 2022.  It was an amazing visit where students got practical knowledge about the various proedure and documentation involved in export of goods.

All About MBA

Department of Commerce, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College, organized a seminar on "All About MBA" on July 5, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. in Block No. 710. The speaker for the session was Mr. Vivek Sarda. The session was organized for the learners of second-year Bcom. It was an insightful session, which will definitely help the students decide the right path towards their career. A total of 56 students attended the seminar.

 

An Overview of Study Abroad

Department of Commerce, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College, organized a seminar on "An overview of study abroad on July 13, 2023, at 10:15 a.m. in Block No. 710 for the learners of third year Bcom and at 11:00 a.m. in Block No. 705 for the learners of second year Bcom. The speaker for the session was Ms. Karuna Vishwakarma. It was a very informative session; the learners were well acquainted with the various universities and countries available to study abroad. A total of 75 learners attended the seminar.

Seminar on Basics of International Trade and India's Foreign Trade Policy 2023

Department of Commerce, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College, organized a seminar on "Basics of International Trade and India’s Foreign Trade Policy 2023 on July 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in Block No. 710 for the learners of third year Bcom. The speaker for the session was Mr. Rahul Bhardwaj - Ex - Executive Director in - charge of Indian Oil Corporation. The seminar aimed to provide a deep understanding of India’s Foreign Trade Policy and its impact on international trade. It sought to shed light on the challenges and opportunities faced by India in global trade.

 

Seminar on Six Soft Skills for Student Success

Department of Commerce, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College, organized a seminar on "Six soft skills for student success on 28th July, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. in Block No. 705 for the learners of first year B.Com. The speaker for the session was Ms. Subhashini Naikar Dharma - Vice Principal, Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College of Commerce and Economics .  The seminar was a gateway for enhancing soft skills of the learners, unlocking their potential, and achieving success in their academic pursuits and future career. It also helped them believe that with the right tools and mindset, every person can cultivate these invaluable skills and become a well-rounded, successful individual.

 

 

AD MAD COMPETITION

The Department of Commerce, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College, organized an AD MAD COMPETITION” on Thursday, 14th September, 2023,  at 11:00 a.m. in Block No. 710 for all programs.The theme for the competition was goods, services, and ideas. The judge for the competition was Ms. Bhavna Singh. The winners were declared first, second, and third, respectively.

 

 

Educational visit to Navneet Education Ltd.

With an aim to give practical exposure and experiencing learning to the students on Saturday, 16th September, 2023 the Department of B.Com had organized an educational visit to Navneet Education Ltd. It was a valuable learning experience for all participants. It provided students with the opportunity to connect classroom learning to real-world scenarios, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter. The observations, insights, and student feedback highlight the significance of such visits in enhancing the educational journey. A total of 146 students of First Year B.Com registered for the visit, 140 students attended and benefited from the visit.

 

 

Educational visit to Atlas Skill Tech University

The Department of Commerce organized an educational visit to Atlas Skill Tech University for the learners of second and third year BCOM on Wednesday, 27th September, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The university organized a digital marketing bootcamp. The bootcamp for students was organized with the goal of empowering students with practical digital marketing skills, which was successfully achieved.

A Seminar on Resume Building, LinkedIn account and Interview Etiquettes

A seminar in collaboration between placement cell B.com and M.com departments was conducted on Resume Building, linkedin account and interview Etiquette on 1st February 2023 at 11.00am by Harshal Kulkarni Assistant Vice President of Aptech 
The session was attended by B.Com and M.com students. Around more than 50 students attended the seminar and they gained vast experience and knowledge due to the session.Mr. Kulkarni gave students an idea about how a resume has to be built giving a complete overview of the essentials, He also shared certain practical experiences with students. Mr. Kulkarni with his team also specified about a training program to be offered to the students with placement support.At the end they distributed certain sheets mentioning about the various programs that they offer and asked the students to visit their branch for any support required.
The session ended with a positive note and students were satisfied with the presentation and also shared that they would like to attend such sessions in the future. 

 

 

Workshop on Investing in Financial Markets

The Department of BCom and MCom organized a workshop on the topic: “Investing in Financial Markets” on Tuesday, 6th February, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Block No. 705 for the learners of Bcom and MCom. The speaker for the session was Mr. Dharmendara Makwani, Faculty, IBS. The workshop  provided a comprehensive overview of fundamental concepts, risk management, market analysis, and various investment strategies. Participants gained practical insights into using investment tools, understanding regulatory compliance, and ethical considerations. The workshop aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for making informed investment decisions in their future careers. A total of 64 learners attended the workshop.

 

The Communicator's Edge: Strategies for Success in Every Interaction

The Department of Bcom organized a seminar titled, “The Communicator's Edge: Strategies for Success in Every Interaction" on 08th February, 2024 from 10:15 a.m. onwards for the learners of TYBCOM.The seminar proved to be a valuable and enriching experience for all participants. Attendees left with practical tools and techniques to improve their communication skills, fostering success in both personal and professional spheres. The event was successful in creating an interactive platform for learning, networking, and sharing best practices in communication. Approximately 150 learners participated.

The speaker for the session was Mr. Priya Mundada. The session was organized for the learners of third year B.Com. It was a very informative and insightful session, which will definitely help the students decide the right path towards their career. A total of 56 students attended the seminar.

Industrial Visit to Mahananda Dairy

On Thursday, 22nd August 2024, the Department of Commerce organized an industrial visit for SYBCOM students to Mahananda Dairy, providing them with valuable insights into the dairy production process. The students toured various departments, where they observed the entire process of milk being collected, processed, packaged, and stored. During the visit, they had the opportunity to interact with the officials, who answered the students' questions, offering in-depth knowledge about the operational techniques, quality control measures, and the overall dairy production process. The students also gained an understanding of the marketing strategies employed by Mahananda Dairy to distribute their products. The visit proved to be an enriching experience, allowing students to learn firsthand about the complexities of both production and marketing in the dairy industry.

 

A seminar on “How, When and Where to Invest”

The Department of Commerce at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College organized a seminar on the topic "How, When, and Where to Invest" on July 11, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. The seminar took place in Block No. 606 and was specifically for B.Com students. Mr. Anil Poste was the speaker for the session. The seminar was very informative and insightful, and it will definitely help the students make decisions about various areas of investment at an early stage. A total of 64 students attended the seminar and benefited from the session.
 

 

Business Quiz: BRAINSTORM BUSINESS: THE ULTIMATE QUIZ CHALLENGE

The Department of Commerce organized the business quiz titled,  “BRAINSTORM BUSINESS: THE ULTIMATE QUIZ CHALLENGE” on Monday, 12th August, 2024.15 teams battled it out, and the event was a resounding success, captivating the audience with  its fast-paced rounds and challenging questions.From the get-go, the competition was fierce with teams demonstrating their in-depth knowledge of business, economics, and current affairs. The quizmaster, Mr. Ruben Nadar of Sybcom, kept the energy levels high with engaging questions and witty banter. Dr. Poonam Kakkad, the Vice-Principal, awarded medals and certificates to the winners for their outstanding performance.

A Workshop on The Power of Team - Elevating Leadership Skills

The Department of Accountancy organized a dynamic and engaging workshop titled “The Power of Team – Elevating Leadership Skills” for the T.Y.B.Com students on Friday, 16th August 2024. The workshop, held at Nirmala Hall, focused on fostering leadership qualities among students through collaborative team-building activities. Around 110 students actively participated in the workshop. 

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Nikhil Velari, an experienced professional and expert in leadership training and team development. The interactive nature of the workshop ensured that students were actively involved and could relate the lessons learned to real-life scenarios. 

A Session on Empowerment of Students through Investor Awareness Program

The Department of Accountancy organized an informative session titled “Empowerment of Students through Investor Awareness Programme” on Monday, 2nd December 2024. Mr. Pratyush Bhaskar, a certified SEBI Trainer, was invited as the key resource person for the session. With his expertise in the field of financial markets and investor education, Mr. Bhaskar led an engaging and insightful discussion on the fundamentals of financial planning. Around 75 students were benefited from this session.  

It focused on educating the students about managing their finances effectively, making informed decisions, and gaining the confidence to engage in investment opportunities. The session covered key aspects of personal finance management, such as budgeting, saving, and investment planning.

LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE: EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING THROUGH GAMES


The Department of Commerce organised an interactive session titled “Leadership Challenge: Experiential Learning Through Games” on 15th January, 2025 at Dream Park, Thakur Village, from 10:00 a.m. onwards for the learners of FYBCOM to enhance their understanding of leadership concepts through interactive and engaging activities. 

Learners participated in activities like a Caterpillar, Balloons in the air, Maximum people in the ring, Communication gap and Passing the ring, which provided hands-on experience in managing resources, building trust, and adapting to dynamic situations. 

Each activity was followed by a reflection session where participants shared their insights and discussed strategies for overcoming challenges.

The session was successful in fostering 46 learners with a deeper understanding of leadership while making the learning process fun and practical. Learners left with valuable insights and tools to apply in both academic and professional settings.

 

Unlocking Global Opportunities: The Ultimate Guide to Studying Abroad

The Department of Accountancy, in collaboration with Edwise, organized an insightful session titled "Unlocking Global Opportunities: The Ultimate Guide to Studying Abroad" on Thursday, 23rd January 2025, at 10:30 AM in Block No – 709. The session provided valuable insights into the various opportunities and resources available for students seeking to study abroad. It covered essential topics such as the application process, available scholarships, and the numerous benefits of pursuing an international education. The session served as an excellent platform for students to explore ways to enhance their academic and personal growth on a global scale. Around 50 students were present for the seminar.

Faculty Exchange Programme: Tourism's Role in Shaping the Global Labour Market

On 24th January 2025, a Faculty Exchange Programme was conducted with Loyola Academy, Hyderabad on the topic, "Tourism's Role in Shaping the Global Labour Market," featuring a presentation by Mr. Marvel Praveen Kumar. The session explored how tourism drives global employment by creating job opportunities in hospitality, travel, and related sectors, particularly in emerging markets. Mr. Kumar discussed the evolving skill sets required in the tourism industry, the impact of digital transformation, and the rise of sustainable tourism practices. He highlighted how tourism influences labor mobility, job creation in both developed and developing nations, and the growing demand for specialized skills. Around 50 students were present for the session.

An Eco-Tour to Aarey Colony

On 12th February 2025, an eco-tour to Aarey Colony was organized to raise awareness about the ecological importance of urban green spaces. The tour involved 30 FYBCOM students who explored the rich biodiversity of Aarey, often referred to as Mumbai’s "green lung." Guided through scenic trails, participants learned about various tree species and local wildlife, while also engaging in discussions on critical environmental issues such as urbanization, deforestation, and habitat destruction. The tour highlighted the essential role Aarey plays in maintaining ecological balance amidst rapid urban development. The experience not only deepened the students’ understanding of conservation but also inspired them to reflect on the importance of protecting natural spaces for a sustainable future.

 

Degree Certificate Distribution Ceremony

The Degree Certificate Distribution Ceremony was successfully held on Saturday, 19th April 2025, in the college auditorium. A total of 267 students were registered for it. The auditorium was filled with proud graduates, faculty members, and staff, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.The ceremony was graced by the presence of management representative Mr. Ajit Desai, I/C Principal Dr. Swiddle D'Cunha, Vice Principal Dr. Poonam Kakkad, and program coordinators.The ceremony began with a warm welcome address by the Principal, who congratulated the graduates and reminded them of their responsibilities as ambassadors of the institution.Degree certificates were distributed program-wise, with efficient coordination by the designated program in-charges and faculty members. The ceremony concluded with group photographs and refreshments.Overall, it was a memorable and proud day for all the graduates and the institution.
